Sketch, I don't think your response is ridiculous at all. My new chair has height, ass tilt, back tilt, arm height, arm width, arm forward/back, and lumbar adjustment, it is overwhelming trying to find the right setup. I also just got anew desk which was very hard for me to pick out... all desks these days are 29-30" tall which is pretty high for mouse/KB, but I don't like the sliding trays underneath since they usually can't fit both, especially with a giant mousepad. I'm lucky that my legs are long enough to jack my seat way up to the right level for the desk and still have my feet on the ground, barely... but I still might consider a footrest too.

I've been wanting to get a armrest but...honestly I think it would constrain my wrist just a little because of how I hold my mouse. I'm using a Razer Lachesis and I do a combination of a claw and palm grip, it feels easier and doesn't make me feel tense at all. Lately though my desk has been my armrest but I've been wanting to try an actual one.

My elbow is on the arm rest and my wrist/forearm are on the edge of the desk/mousepad. My chair sits lower than the desk so I am at an incline. My mouse & keyboard are on a pull out tray/drawer thing.

Re: Weird question... do you rest your mouse arm (elbow) on an armrest?
For the last couple weeks, and for at least another three or so, I've actually been playing sitting up in bed, with my back propped against the wall and my computer sitting on a pillow on my lap. This means that my mouse arm naturally ends up down beside my right hip, rather than in front of me.
Though it was a little challenging at first getting used to this, I think it has actually decresed the amount of stress on my wrist and forearm considerably, because hanging down by one's side is a much more natural position for the arm than extended forward at a 90 degree angle.
