Re: Idea for new unlockable wrench
I was thinking of some kind of gun that holds 12 rounds and does about the same damage as the SMG. However, each round is actually a nail that repairs 30 points of damage. Can repair from a distance, fires at the same rate as the SMG, reloads at the speed of the Revolver, and require 6 shots to remove a sapper.

Re: Idea for new unlockable wrench
How about a catapult instead of the teleporter? It would make it harder for spies to render it useless as there would only be one component. :10
There would be 3 levels of building:
LEVEL 1. When the engie places it, he would see a trajectory that could also be bounced off walls and objects with no ill effects to team members. Team members can immediately start using the preset trajectory with no extra help needed. The distance and amount of bouncing is limited.
LEVEL 2. Rotational ability is added to the catapult, but it is a 2 team member effort to use. Team member 1 sits in the catapult and sees the new trajectory, they also launch the catapult. Team member 2 rotates the catapult (would be a good use of VoIP). The distance is still limited, but the amount of bouncing is increased with no ill effects to team members.
LEVEL 3. Gives the catapult the ability to change the arc angle(controlled be team member 2), which can increase distance, but it also changes the look of the trajectory line. The trajectory line now resembles a health meter, which means an amount of damage could be inflicted on the team member if the set trajectory is set to far or is being bounced off of to many walls or objects.
I'm still unsure what the effect of being lauched would look like, but the idea would be just like what you see in cartoons.

This might not be the best idea but I think Valve is going to make the sentry harder to kill because most people seem to complain about them being too weak.
I still like the level 1 sentrys that you can stick to walls or ceilings. You would get 3 and they build very fast. You could not set them in each others viewing radius and they could not be repaired. you could set them up tactically so when the enemy retreats from one they run into another. Not useful against heavy classes but it would shut down smaller classes moving alone.

On the subject of the sentry. If it was too buffed most of the ways to kill it would disappear. A good team can keep a sentry going for some time, it's not supposed to be invincible. One main weakness of many sentries is the engi. Once he is gone the sentry is wide open for a kill.
