Teleporter Exit Destroyed?

Sometimes I will be upgrading my exit, or preparing to upgrade it right as its finished being built and it will just blow up, with no enemy around. Anybody know whats up with this?

DUDE! This same thing happened to me last night and I thought I was crazy...NO idea what the deal was, it just crumbled into pieces for no reason.

It has happened to me before as well. I dropped it in the same place about 3 times and it blew up every time. I moved like a foot to the left and it built just fine. JoeCrow had some kind of explanation for it, but I cant remember what he said.

Im pretty sure its because theres a wall nearby and if someone took the tele they would be clipping into the wall. So to make it so people cant use this to get through a wall valve made it so the exit just blows up.

Booya. It will happen the second someone tries to take the teleporter. Take it away from the wall/object its placed by, and itll be fine.

It happens when you build an Exit near enemy spawns. (To prevent major spawn camping I guess?) Like in Badwater, if a Blu Engie sneaks all the way to the enemy spawn and builds an Exit, on that top left ramp with the 100 metal box and 25% health pills.

That has to do with the clipping mentioned above, since it first places you a certain "height" above the ground, which if abused, leads to clipping. I haven't noticed this anywhere else, honestly.
