Thread: Hows your new setup?

Recent updates:

1)17in X 11.5in mousepad - i can't go over the edge even if try.
2)Turned view models off for weapons -no more distracting constant reloading
3)Started using an FPS config (made me go from low 20-30s to almost 50+)
4)Started using a mixture of noid's and m0re's HUDs (changes positioning of health bar ammo ext.)
5)I've been using the competitive configurations, loved them. I got an updated version of the config and one cool thing i'm trying out is on every class that doesn't use right click, it will switch to my secondary weapon. Another sweet thing about the config is that it switches crosshairs for different guns.
6)Mouse 3 = ingame talk
7)mouse 4 = mumble/vent
8)FOV 90

One thing i've been told to do is try turning off my scatter gun bullets, apparently it might help me focus on shooting rather than the blood. Haven't tried it yet though.

Putting the game in windowed mode and adding -noborder to the launch options. Alt-tab instantly. Might have a very slight fps drop on some computers.

It also makes the game much darker, a problem that adjusting gamma/brightness won't fix..therefore: no.

Guess my monitor is just bad-ass, then. No problem seeing anything in dark areas.

Edit: Adjusting your desktop's gamma/brightness would also fix the issue. Though changing your gamma/brightness depending on when you want to play a game or not would suck. Thankfully, my colors are really accurate and I have no problem seeing things in dark areas.

I do need to try playing Natural Selection again and try that in windowed mode. I remember that game being artificially dark. Doom 3 in windowed mode was still fully visible, though.
