Yep, every class that has unlockable weapons/items has 3 milestone achievements. Each milestone has a different weapon. And each milestone requires a certain number achievements earned.

Man, now I can see why this might be confusing for new players
Yeah, I didn't get it either, but its been a while

here's a few tips on the alternate guns for the classes I play, I'll let someone else who plays spy, sniper fill those in

    medic:
    - blutsauger if you have bad protectors who don't guard you well, regular needlegun if you have players you trust to protect you
    - regular gun for invuln uber, krit gun gives constant krits but you lose invuln. use regular unless you have good players to give krit to
    - bonesaw hits faster, but ubersaw gives you a 25% "fill" to your uber meter, use the uber saw

    heavy:
    - regular minigun 99% of the time, except on defense if you want to try natascha it can work then somewhat for the slowdown effect
    - use the kgb gloves always, they swing slower but give you a kritz when you kill someone with them
    - use the shotty unless you are a) lone wolf b) working well with your medic and you want to be able to give him the sandvich to heal him

    scout:
    - never use the sandman...really. never.
    - only use the FAN if you can a) two shot well b) use it to move around like a rocket jump
    - bonk drink only to get through sticky traps or setup plays for distraction for your team

    pyro:
    - stock airblast flamethrower for defensive playing, backburner for flanking or rushes
    - flaregun is pretty much better if you can aim it well, shotty if you cant
    - axetinguisher beats axe except pyro to pyro melee fights, or if you tend to forget to light someone on fire before you melee

Just to make it more confusing. I know when items were first being dropped they had all kinds of weird levels. They had an update and supposedly did away with the random levels. Now I also seem to remember back when you had to earn the new stuff that the first item was level 5, second, level 10. Now the new drops all seem uniform only for each item. I.e. level 7 sandvich or whatever. Any ideas or have I been um.... engaging in activities I cant afford?

Even with good protectors, I take blutsager because I'm a very good shot with it.

    SUMMARY BELOW

    sniper:
    - razorback: you'll be seen as a less helpful player, but the shield will protect you from most spy attacks... at least on regular pubs. around ttp, every spy knows to just whip out a revolver and ruin your day. take jarate and know that every time you get backstabbed, you would have just gotten revolvered to death.
    - jarate: smg is helpful, but hardly a damaging weapon at anything beyond 10 yards or so. the smg is great for spy detection too, but so is jarate. know your uses for jarate - finds cloaked and disguised spies (if the urine appears on them, they're enemy), extingushes teammates (and yourself) if they are on fire, adds a mini-crit bonus to any enemies they hit. if you are in close range you should throw jarate and retreat to keep using your rifle.
    - huntsman: this is debatable to the hills, and is not the thread for it either. take whichever you're good at, rifle or huntsman. rifle will do counter sniping and long-range tactics better, while a huntsman will let you whack people around corners and do close range attacks.

    spy:
    cloak types:
    - regular: traditional 'cloak and run in' operates in a very traditional cloak in your lines, get through their lines, and then use a disguise to get to a point where you can stab someone. requires you know the map well
    - campcloak and dagger: use in defensive situations or when waiting for your team to help you take a sentry. be wary not to wait too long or for your cloak to fully recharge, your main goal is kills.
    - dead ringer: the strangest cloak style. you can view the dead ringer as either a way to get in or a way to get two chances at an attempt. keep in mind that after you "die" you are a 1250 health cloaked spy for 8 seconds. I have seen this used to block ubers, but i doubt you'll get the chance in most cases.
    - ambassador: do you get head shots a lot? take it. one-shot-one-kill. do you like being able to dish out some consistent damage? take revolver. pew pew pew.

    SUMMARY:
    sniper:
    -take jarate
-take huntsman or rifle based on your skill and the situation

    spy:
-pick your favorite cloaking style and be good at it
-take revolver unless you're a good shot

best thing to do with that is to "puff" them with fire and air blast them at the same time to shoot them into a wall and give you time to pull out your axe and hit them. It scares the shit out of everyone and takes down scouts pretty well....

To add to the sniper, the razorback is useful if you stick close to teammates, it will protect you from a lot of backstabs that actually never happen. Because your wearing it, spies tend to ignore you as a viable target. This only applies if you are near teammates though. Also it can be useful to be a little more offensive with the jarate, especially on payload maps. Trust me, there is barely anything friendly demos and soldiers like to see more than a cart crowded with jarated enemies.

Also, if you use the huntsman you will lose 99% of any 1v1 fight against a competent rifle sniper.

Re: Im a little confused with this.

Razorback is annoying when the sniper moves with the group. Makes it hard to get off multiple stabs.

I would practice with rifle sniper before using the Ambassador.

Use the Regular Watch - it's the one you'll probably end up using 75% of the time and it keeps you cloaked the longest. However, to be really good with it, you need to know where all the metal drops are on the map so that you can resupply your cloak while you're on the run and invisible.

Also, don't run into people as a spy. You get revealed that way.

    Advice with Spy

Download tr_walkway_rc and practice the different back stabs and your aim. Trust me, it helps A LOT.

    Actually, fuck it.
