Yeah, but watch out for stickie traps when you're doing that. It's pretty deflating to see a person that you were about to uber explode right before your eyes...

In my experience, waiting usually works out okay if there is a lot of action and you're keeping pressure on the other team. It's a different story if most of your team was hiding to build the uber, or if the round is just starting.

Don't forget Players Extinguished, too: http://texasteamplayers.hlstatsx.com/actioninfo/370. </tooting own horn> More uncharred friendlies means a better chance for the team to advance. Pyros, Engies, and Snipers can help here, too, peeps!

The Medic role is the only reason I still play TF2. It is such a unique, game-changing mechanic that never gets old to me. I would play it even without the ÜberCharges and Kritzs (although they are icing on the cake). The Kill Assists are rewarding enough.

Am I a one-dimensional player? Maybe. But I can "pewpew" or "boomboom" in countless other boring fragfest, respawn-o-rama games. I only switch off Medic whenever there are already two other competent teammates playing the class. Ultimately, it comes down to—once again—class balance and communication.

sMOKe, I'll pocket up with you any day. That is, if I'm not already being FAW's personal Medic. :P

Hmm... I don't even play medic nor a medic's pocket much and I completely disagree with that. If the medics on my team are getting back stabbed a lot, it is our fault more than his. If we want to encourage others to start playing medic, we have to protect them when they try.

especially the medic. A medics job is to be healing as much as possible. There isn't time to pull out the needle gun every time someone comes around the corner. Buff first ask questions later.

A medics job is to stay alive in order to be healing as much as possible.

The main reason I made that comment is in response to the people who say they don't play medic unless there are other regs on. I just wanted to show that you can adjust your tactics to the situation not that it is the best way to play.

stab me once shame on you, stab me twice shame on me. Once i know there is a spy i dare him to come after me, its free uber for me. As a medic you have full 360 when healing you need to use it, always turn to watch your back and call out flanks.

Scout used to be my favorite class before the direct hit came around. Being one shot by non crit fire is just not much fun.

I will freely admit I don't play medic as much as I should/could.

But what I do think is that a medic has more time than anybody else to look backwards, since he can heal his pocket and spy check at the same time. Yes, the rest of the team should be spychecking too, but I can never understand medics who aren't always watching the flank. When I play medic I always call the flank before anybody else, and when I have a good medic with me he usually notices spies before me or anybody else.
