Topic split. If you want to debate the merits of TF2 as a game then do it in the other thread.

Re: 24/7 CP server goes no-crits!
I dragged myself away from my regular MMO to give this a try and I had a lot of fun. It felt like any other awesome time on our server, but the lack of crits one shotting me lowered the frustration. I also know that I get better when I have to work for my kills instead of letting a lucky shot do it for me. I'm glad we're trying this and I'll be back to try some more.
All of this coming from a guy that defended crits in all of the other threads we had about them.

Re: 24/7 CP server goes no-crits!
Maybe this was just last night and owing to the excellent teamplayers we had on there, but it seems to me that people are more willing to listen to the medic being the 'shot caller'. Protecting the medic is key and with that comes having to listen to the medic calling out stuff. I played medic for a while and I was please to find that people were not only shielding me, but listening to my orders.

I agree. There were still rolling happening but it was obvious that coordination and class selection was to blame not just luck. Adjust your tactics and wham, back in the game. This format does force people to play at a higher skill level/concentration so if your not in that mood, just switch to one of the others. Also, having those new and skilled players was fun, because honestly I know at this point which classes I needed to worry about with different players, etc. The new influx of these skilled players kept me on my toes. Honestly though, I do miss my random crit ubersaw stabs (MEDICS REVENGE!!!)
