I like learning maps as Ngie, since you hunker down in a defensive stance and move behind the lines, although a really good ngie would require advanced knowledge of the map. I think I learned with the pyro, but pyro has gotten alot tougher on ttp (and the pyros are usually wicked good too).]
I think my suggestion would echo above, play medic, get with a good player and watch how they play; read some medic threads in theis forum. Also, watch demos. go to gotfrag.com and get a hltv demo you can watch each class and see how the pros do it then take tidbits from that and ty to emulate it.
Lastly, if you're serious work on your aim. tr_walkway won't really help that much but for a beginner it can help you develop basic aim...it's too easy and predictable no matter what weird settings you program the bots with."Political Correctness is a cancer to our Society and a Direct Threat to our free speech," The Oozish One

Solider and Medic are the best places to start, communicate with your team. If medics and meat fodder is covered ask your team what is needed to balance things out. On TTP they will always tell you what is needed. Being willing to play classes the team needs will put you miles ahead of the rest. Getting good at the classes will come with practice. Don't be offended if you try out a new class, engineer for example, and if your side is getting trounced they ask you to try another class. It's never personal. Also you rarely if ever need two snipers or spies so if you see one already on the team that would not be the time to practice it. Above all, communicate, use your mic and have fun.

2 snipers or 2 spies can work but the biggest issue is when you have snipers/spies that cant cut it when you need the enemy to die. If were winning we can have 3 snipers but if non of those snipers can kill their sniper its time to mix it up.
Heavy is a really difficult class to play on TTP although it seems the easiest (Run and gun, or... Waddle and gun).
Demo is a good class once you get used to the weapons
Soldier is easy to get the basics but hard to master
Pyro is REAL easy to play hard to get kills with even harder to play well.
Pro Medic Tip: Always assume your target isnt going to run blindly around a corner or throw himself onto/into a crit. Hang back! if your target dies its okay, if you die your team is down an uber for 45+ seconds!
