:3 Must every cool thing shown be turned into a flame war? How do you think Cprice feels?
I thought the vid was pretty sweet, sure it was a special server and whatnot, but some of those took precision and timing of epic proportions! And if all those jumps could be used in battle then you'd probably start complaining about the solly being OP, so quite ladies

I've tried so hard to learn bhopping in Quack Live. Ugh, that stuff is dumb and i can never get it.

More on topic. Jump servers are fun. The constant resupply makes doing this a a lot easier.
Also, I think that when a soldier tries to do these high damage jumps, they will most likely be doing it in a clutch situation resulting in funny, yet BS, kills.

I tried out the gunboats last night, very nice if you can get the chain jumping down. Also even if you only have 4 rockets not many people can airshot so you can reload in midair.

We're all playing pointless and stupid video games. None of them matter at all. That's why we're here, to have fun.

And what do we call somebody who posts in a thread about something they don't like, just to complain?

You don't see me posting in threads about MMORPG's calling them stupid. I just stay away from them, that's all.

Been real busy with real life lately. Haven't even played TF2 much in couple weeks. But yeh that stuff make my rocketeer_adv look easy. I was never able to master the skip jumps consistently.

no its normal grav, there's just a weird glitch with source that lets you glide off angled surfaces its just like the badlands demo jump at the beginning just longer. or how you glide off the stairs when you do the demo jumps on badlands.
It's not really a glitch. It's about friction. Bind a key to no clip and move forward very fast just above the ground. Then turn no clip off. When you land, you still have a lot of forward speed, and it takes a moment for it to bleed off. Friction on the ground. You don't stop immediately. So Langrad, he DID "land" but he only stayed grounded very briefly before jumping again and keeping his forward speed. The incline just acts as a ramp... turns that forward speed into upward throw.

You won't cause it's not there. It was a glitch found by some gamers back in the day that was "kept" in game by popular demand.

People don't make games and say "hey, instead of moving by walking like real people do, lets tell people to jump around like rabbits."
Rocket jumping was a mistake at first, but doesn't it add so much more dynamic to games?
Rocket jumping was a mistake about 15 years ago.

It is intentional in TF2. They made a freaking item for it. They have tips on the map load screen about how to rocket jump. Can it be any more plain?

No, they don't have tutorials on how to strafe jump in the instruction manual. Nor do they have tutorials about how to air shot. Advanced play comes to advanced players. They know strafe jumping exists. If they didn't want it, they would remove it like the other unmentionable bullshit.
