    This looks interesting so I figured I'd post it since I remember we had a lot of participants in our ttp soldier tourney we did awhile back.

    MF! played in a UGC league awhile back and they have a nice scheduling system so it should run pretty smooth I imagine.

    The 1v1 Soldier League will be played on a custom map created for this league. This league was designed to see who is really the best soldier out there!
    Server's are provided and specifically setup for this match type. This is pure deathmatching, Soldier vs soldier with unlimited rockets and 1200 health. Each match will play to 21 Kills for a Winner. The server Plug-in and map we use was created by Kroleg, as a Public Ammo mod.

    The League will run as follows:

    Every Tuesday's the Schedules will be posted showing matchups, and the server you are to use. Each player will need to log in to the website, and post in a match comment when you are available to play and fairly schedule a time to play your opponent. Each player will have a 5 day window to play his opponent in. Then at your scheduled/agreed upon time, you will join your designated server to meet your opponent.
    Once on the the Match Server, type /add in chat in console and pick a room number that you both should agree upon before hand (1-8).
    When both players are in the room the match will start immediately with a short count down from the plugin.
    You will then play until one player reaches 21 kills and the plug will reset itself. The player who gets to 21 kills first is the winner. Winners should log into the site and report each players score. After 2 losses players will no longer be scheduled. Also failure to show up for matches, forfeits and loack of match comm posting will result in players being dropped.

    This is cool. I wish they had an official map designed for dual of all classes like Q3 has.

    But do they really count as soldiers if they've got unlimited ammo and super health? I mean, even the difference in ammo levels changes play, more rockets, less pulling out the shotgun. Then add in the health and it becomes a very different animal.

    But this is without health packs lying around, so every little bit of hp you get off on them before they retreat is a plus! Also, if oyur out of reloaded shots then the shotty might be smart to pick off a little bit of damage before you get behind cover to reload. I dont know how the equalizer will work with the added hp, guessing it would be banned anyways.

    there is no reload.

    i dont like how its ammomod format... sure give a health boost like 400 but keep it normal gameplay, show off the better rounded soldiers.

    there's no cover either its just a round room, and the point is to just practice your dm/rocket aim. It really won't tell "who is the best soldier" but just more of who can spam jump and figure out strafe patterns better.....imo tho the added hp is necessarily so you don't get gayed.

    ya, that's kindof lame..like I said, I'd like to see a DM map made specifically for tf2 that allows a class to use whatever their abilities are in any way and not just dump 2 peeps in the room ammomod style. Real DM uses cover and maps to their advantage Q3 style.

    There's an option in ammomod (at least there was) where you had 300 HP (Medic buffed) and normal ammo/reload.

    To me, that's the most realistic since it gets people to use their shotguns.
