Rocket Jump Question

I don't usually use the Direct Hit as a soldier, but I am curious if it makes a difference on rocket jumping. I know that essentially both rockets hit the ground at the same speed since it is so close to the starting point, but does it mess with accuracy of the jump or anything else.

Thanks, didnt think so, but I was messing around with both of them during priming and thought I was doing better with the DH. Must have just been a psychological thing

Actually for advanced rocket jumping where the speed of the rocket comes into play (skipping, etc), yes there is a difference. But for a single rocket jump off the ground, it ends up the same.

Are you talking about say one jump then another jump off a wall to move fowards or another direction?

you know i seen it in a video posted here but never been able to re jump off anything after the first jump

Yes. When you have a lot of forward speed and fire a rocket, you have to aim it so that you and it will hit a certain point at a certain time. If the rocket moves faster, that affects your calculation.

For a normal speed standing or walking RJ, the difference is negligible.
