My settings won't save

Ok so, this is what I want my settings to be when I play TF2.

Everything mostly everything low or minimal, I want medium models and textures cause well....they look nicer than low. And I'm playing at 1680 x 1050, so I turn bloom off to get a little more fps.

Yet, every time I turn off my comp and boot up TF2, they go back to this

This happens everytime without fail, and I kinda wish I didn't have to every time I wanna play. So is there anyway to make my changes permanent?

beats me i got the same problem even in windows if i try to take read only off a folder it wont save that way

this happened to me with Counter-Strike. Actually what you might want to do is manually modify the config files then set them read-only so the program can't change them back.

Look up the console command/launch option for each setting that you want changed and add it to your autoexec.cfg/launch options.

check your launch options and make sure you do not have either -autoconfig or -dxlevel xx with xx being the direct x level you use. the dxlevel cmd resets your vid options each time like autoconfig, but only needs to be used once to set the level and then removed.

To save yourself some time, save your configuration, alt+tab out of the game, and copy your config file code into your autoexec.cfg. That is assuming your config file actually saves what you set it at.
