What do you think of mini-sentries?

But theres the headshot then body shot choice which is quicker and easier then popping another headshot.

But I find the mini to be stupid. I can use a lvl one and replace it, makeing it go up basically just as fast with more damage and I can repair it and upgrade it for when it needs to fight larger groups. Minis are for people who need to put a gun up in the midst of battle, which isnt where an engy should be.

A second headshot takes some time to get, whereas a bodyshot is an easy followup. Plus, when they're hurt, I have to find out if they're Gunslinger or not before I try to headshot, because it might reveal me too much.

Then headshot, body shot, body shot. Or use the regular revolver and just do 3 body shots. Just makes the regular revolver that much better than the Ambassador, even though it already was lol.

It really just depends how you use it. If you use it on defense it just gets run over by the team, but if your running up and attacking with it, with your team it still adds a solid amount of damage. Also, it can be distracting for other people trying to kill it giving your teammates more time. Also since its only 100 ammo, as soon as its dead you can replace it. Just too many people are using it to try to defend something instead of attacking.

If I'm getting close enough to an engy to make the revolver worth it, you may as well backstab him already. Same with the "one headshot, two body". Also, they're situational. The Amby makes 125 classes a piece of cake, and you can do it from across the map. Revolver is if you're found or find an enemy weak enough to kill with a single shot.

I think Oozish pretty much covered all the good points to them. But I also agree with him and a few others on the fact that they could stand a small buff. Wat's idea of a faster-firing one or a slightly stronger one would be excellent!

I'd like to keep this topic rolling a bit more, so how about this question now: Pistol/Wrangler, and Frontier/Shotgun? Which do those of you Gunslinger Engies prefer? Personally I can't decide :/ I like just about any setup.

Oh, and for those of you who think Engies don't need to be on the front lines, consider this. They're a different breed of Engie, one that's more suited to front lines and that hates to have 5 minutes of painstaking work on sentries and dispensers destroyed by a stickyspam in seconds. (Example: me ^_^)

PS. Looks like I created a Revolver/Ambassador argument here... Cool I guess. Personally I like both, but nothing beats an Amby headshot kill! (Well, maybe a backstab 8D )

Sure theres a new breed but some enge stuff is ment to distract. Like the attacking time on badwater. A lvl 3 gun with a tele put further back can stop the opposing team from rounding the corner. A mini sentry? no chance in hell. There are times where your team runs into a choke point and needs the lvl 3 to help deal with ubers/kritzes.

Gunslinger is meant for offense, not defense, if you're using any unlocks on defense it should be the Wrangler or the Southern Hospitality.

As for which I prefer, the Frontier Justice of course, but it's a heavy gamble sometimes. Which is why the Shotgun is usually a smarter choice.
