On the other hand with an event, if someone is not at their computer, when they come back they still have a message asking them to play. Getting the attention of more people, making priming more effective.

An annoucement would have come and gone without them knowing.

I still dont understand how posting an announcement is bad. For major announcements like the IP change we can update the profile information, use the forums, post announcements on the TPG main group.

I feel the announcement is a nice compromise between the annoyance of an event and the desire to get people to see the priming message.

But the Event doesnt actually stop you in game, only in the steam menu or out of game. I REALLY isnt a problem for me and shouldbe for any of you!

if they ever push out the polycount pack it will fill up the servers again i'll probably play when i get a new headset

You gotta realize that things wont be as busy as before, when they were updating so regularly and getting new players every day. And with school in session for most people a lot of the younger crowed just doesnt have time to play as much any more.
