They've updated all the pics to be more accurate. I still think 9/10 hats look better unpainted. SOME of the hats look ok in white or black only. Probably the best looking one is Tossle Cap, I think... since it only paints a small stripe around it.

Valve patched out a lot of the glitchy hats, including the Master's Yellow Belt. Mine is solid purple in game now.

Same goes for the Gibus it looks like.

Yeh but tossle is the only one that stays MOSTLY team colored with an additional painted stripe. I think it can do that and still retain "feel" of game (like the heavy's toque originally had team color plus gold/yellow).

gibus, Stash, maybe others paint a small stripe, but on top of a black base... and a bright color on black stands out too much, whereas a bright color on team color base can kind of look ok.

Opinion, of course...

I might paint my tossle cap eventually, but most of them are ugly. The colors are still reddish, at least according to the wiki pictures. Tough Guy's Toque doesn't do that. It'd be a good one to paint. But yeah, more hats need to retain some team color, I think.

I did paint my Scotsman's Stove Pipe because it's just a boring, black hat. Now it's a purple beauty!
