Ah but on that subject, thats part of what the scout boost that really annoys me. I cant hammer a scout in 1 hit anymore, it takes 2 atleast

    Sword and BORED?

I only tried the S&B like once or twice and I actually couldn't figure out how to get a kill with it. Apparently, easy things confuse me. Never tried it again after that.

All the other hats have downsides, but its just a health buff so there is no reason NOT to use it.
No... none of the hats have downsides (or upsides even) by themselves. They simply complete the set in each case, and add a bonus only with that completion. There are no "set downsides," only set bonuses. And hats by themselves have neither bonuses nor downsides.

I can't hit the broadside of a barn with that dang Shortstop :/ Plus, you have a lot more ability to stay in combat with the good ol' Scattergun. Not to mention the Scouts were practically MADE for close range, so the ability for them to fight in a midrange doesn't really help them, on the account that they can be SO much more murderous up close. Really I don't mind the Shortstop too much, sure it's all the rage now, but soon most of the players will switch to Scatter again and laugh at how many more kills they can get with it (that's what happened to me!)

Twas a pun on purpose Veo!

But what do you mean? The hats complete the sets, so what I mean by that is that the hats basically do the effects. And each of the hats have a downside of some sort to it, but the scout gun does not.
For instance, I find the new pyro update perfect, the new pyro is not any better, but it focuses on the airblasting and mainly weapon combos, though I wish I could get the bonus while still having my axetinguisher, but alas. The new pyro shoots into a group at a faster speed and wreaks havok, but dies more quickly from its counters. Its a good and balanced trade.

the scout still does the same stuff, just better in every way. And now he can heal while doing it

How is the milk better at distracting a sentry than Bonk? Or faster at killing medics than using crit cola?

Swapping your pistol for ANY can of liquid with strange effects but no bullet-shooting-abilities... the tradeoff should be extremely obvious.

I don't understand if you are agreeing with my point or disagreeing. He is saying the milkman can do everything any other scout can do and better... I am saying it does not and the other unlocks still have their merits.

    Re: Scattergun

I hate it, I cant kill anything with. the bullet spread is so tight you pretty much get all or nothing all the time, most of the time nothing for my shit aim. Also anything mid range or further only does like 20 damage so I really don't see how this is worth it when its harder to get damage off and does less damage per shot with more falloff (imo I don't know if thats true, just seems that way to me).

I'm agreeing with you. When you swap a gun for a can of soda (or jar of milk), you don't have to list "not a gun" as a disadvantage, like they list the other weapon disadvantages in red text. This one is just obvious.

Well seeing as the milk can pretty much keep you alive to the point where you can kill a heavy close range. Yeah its a nice tradeoff.
Gun works fine for me, playing with it today, and if I had skill with a scout id be do amazing. Unfortunately its prolly my worse class.
