Valve states that the Set Bonuses will not be removed from the Hats

So basically, Valve says they can't remove the Hat Requirement for the Bonuses because people paid for the Hats. By removing the Bonus it basically would mean Valve would have to refund every single one of them.

Which, honestly I'm glad, I was fine with the Set Bonuses before, the new ones are garbage imo. Of the 3 new Sets, only the Medic has a decent bonus to it.

Anyway, thoughts on this?

BS you will still have the hat even if it doesn't give a bonus. They don't have to refund shit.
It is like buying an item and then valve nerfs it, can everyone who bought the item demand for a refund?

Or if sometime down the road they change the color of a paint slightly, can everyone who bought that color paint demand for a refund or a different color paint.

Also that post could be faked, the 'proof' image only show the contact name of Robin Walker not the email address it came from. He could have emailed himself with a contact named Robin Walker. No official Valve email in the screen shot.

That's not the same thing, modifying the bonuses and balancing them is fine. But removing them completely from the Hats? That would be a royal fuck you to everyone who traded, crafted, or bought the Hats for the bonuses.

I've said this before ad I'll say it again, I'm fine with the Set Hats, if they want to drop the prices of them (which they already did) and reduced the requirements for the blue prints (1-2 less refined and a Polycount item for the Set Hat), I'd be ok with that too.

But removing that hat requirement would be stupid, especially since it helps to identify who has the bonus and who doesn't. Saharan Spies are fairly easy to counter if you know if they have the Set Bonus or not, same goes for the other Sets too, you know exactly what to expect and there aren't any surprises.

Plus, say they made it to where you only need the weapons, you'd be stuck with the bonus for the items and couldn't get rid of it if you chose to use them all together. So if I didn't want the extended blink time for Spy, or the weakness to bullets for Pyro, I'd be screwed because suing them together would force the bonus on you. And they can't remove the downsides because then it'd be gamebreaking.

As they are now, they're balanced, and I'm glad Valve is keeping it that way.
