05-18-11, 01:45 PM #1TIPS for editing Replay/.mov files
Post here any tips you have for editing replays. Specifically I'm looking for those of you with advice how to convert and work with .mov files in win7/windows. I've been studying this for the last 2 days and I still have no luck as to how to effectively convert the file without huge loss of quality and/or to edit in windows these files.
It would be great to add slo mo, effects etc. to these clips, or string them together for a frag video. Anyone have any luck with such an endeavor and or thoughts/advice, Post away.

I was able to open up the exported files and before converting them they already looked ugly, so right now simply exporting makes the quality drop. If you have fraps you can record your takes after editing them in game and then mess with those files but that sort of takes the point out of the replay function although it's a little more convenient than a demo.

After a few days of searching I found the free tool, that will record up to 3 minutes, Xilsoft MOV converter 6. Just render as mpeg-2 files and the quality is outstanding; once you've rendered in appropriate format load up in windows movie maker or your favorite whatever video/movie maker and make your movie.
