Re: TF2 Free to Play?
I think TF2 tried to give me my hat or something. I recieved a nameless item that had weird characters and references the the pyro gas jockey set. Then locked up my computer. Had to unplug, replug and reboot to get back on. Now I cant verify game integrity.... So does that mean everybody is getting the update right now? I feel so left out, lol

Re: TF2 Free to Play?
I'm not surprised or mad that the game is now f2p. I'm sure our admins are competent and active enough to ban any hackers/griefers, just make sure they get a refresher course and can do it within the minute to minimize disdain from the rest of the community. Besides Valve has handled hacker's quite well I'm sure their might be a slight spike in hacker activity but in time they will be back to pre-f2p levels.
Everyone is making it a bigger deal then it should be nothing hass changed just more newbs, noobs and possibly more people to finally get our servers active for more then 5 hours a day with differing ammounts of activity during those 5 hours.

Re: TF2 Free to Play?
I really hope that is sarcasm, of course they did.
Also hope Valve has it covered.
Q. Won’t going Free to Play mean more griefers and cheaters?
We’re increasing our focus on making sure that hostile players can’t ruin your fun. Specifically, we’ll be keeping a close eye on players exploiting the ability to make infinite free accounts to bypass bans. We’ve built systems that’ll allow us to measure and track what these players are doing, and respond quickly.Last edited by insanegammer109; 06-23-11 at 09:33 PM.

Re: TF2 Free to Play?
"Premium accounts have a few extra features, including access to rare and cosmetic items through random item drops, the ability to store more items in your backpack, and more powerful trading and crafting abilities. Otherwise, the gameplay experience will be identical for both accounts." -TF2 FAQ page
...does this mean the premium members (us) can get unusual hats in drops now and that people who don't have premium still need crates or something?Last edited by Vexon; 06-23-11 at 09:38 PM.
