It's amazing how many people complain about Dead Ringer when it's the only watch you can actually counter. You can't stop a man who's cloaked and runs away, but you can stop a obvious feign by going near the closest ammo box and waiting for him to decloak.

It's really easy to kill Dead Ringer Spies, for me at least. :\

The only hard thing about Spy on TPG is getting within range to stab, often times you'll get caught in the act and gibbed before you can make your move. Or, my favorite part, you get a failstab, and die because of it. I love Valve's "Hit Detection".

I can usually maintain a nice 4+ k/d when I play DR spy on TPG so no, I wouldn't consider spy at all difficult. The dead ringer just gives you way too many chances to try again.

Scout is difficult just because of the large player count. It's a GREAT class in 6v6, but at 12v12 it's just unreliable.

Even with Dead Ringer, spy is still the hardest class to play. People just need to get their act together and start checking their asses. Boom, no more problems with spies.

Engineer is a close second, there's so many counters to sentries in this game. Teamwork being tops among them. Even if you can fight without your gun, you're no match for a skilled soldier or demo.

Gimmles, that rant can't be further from the truth. If a lousy idiot like me can play soldier and tear shit up just by thinking a little bit, there's no way the class is hard to play.

If you look at all forms of chemistry a team can have, I really still think engie has it the worst. Spy is, no matter how much he tries not to be, a lonewolf player. They can obviously call out stuff behind enemy lines and go for key targets, but theyre always going to be on their own. If there is a team adamant about stopping a spy, then its going to be hard, but 9/10 times thats not the case. As an engie, you dont need some skilled attack, really just an uber or an annoying sapping conundrum..

Spy is kinda designed to be that way though, he goes out on his own to get in to position for a good kill. He's also really not designed to be class spammed, it's best to only have 1 Spy, or two good Spies who are good at communication.

Arguably Sniper and Scout are capable of lone wolfing too, Snipers have always been that way in every fps, and the Scout spends a lot of time flanking targets and dealing damage before making an escape. It's surprising how much Scout and Spy have in common actually, the difference being how they play. One is more in your face, and the other......well....isn't, obviously.

    wat r pyor

Engie team chemistry=combat class or pyro sits on dispenser, kills spies. 'Nother combat class or a pyro blocks any attempts to uber in. Demos are treated as higher priority than medics. Easy stuff, engies don't even need to communicate beyond "BITCH SIT YER ASS ON THE DISPENSER"

Lonewolfing is actually impossible. It's really just a silent form of teamwork, attempting to use you team as a distraction while you flank for the jugular. It'd be so much stronger if people communicated what they were doing, though.

True most people don't comm but there is no lone wolf tf2, just because you roam doesn't mean lone wolf.

I voted engineer assuming normal sentry. easily weakest class, but mini sentry engi can work pretty well and is not really in same category; almost a different class. Can be very effective given some enemy class/team composition.

Normal sentry can be strong as long as you don't nest in the same spot time after time. You have to move your shit around, constantly. Did your sentry just kill someone? Move it. Move your dispenser, too. Move it so that it stays close to the action, moving it forward or backwards so that your teammates always have a dispenser relatively close by.

Most regular sentry engies succumb to the nesting instinct which is why they get wrecked by a lone demoman or uber.

Whats been cool is to see what people think of as "hardest" and what priorities people have while playing.

You can't move the sentry if they know where it is and push in with uber, demo corner stickies it, etc. You assuming people wiil be shocked at where it is the first time, I think most TPG'ers by this time know every sentry spot possible and anticipate it.
