Has TPG made the mini sentry deadlier than a Level 3 sentry?

Also kinda depends on the map you're playing. That and if you have any airblasting pyros who know how to keep ubers off the guns.

It really depends on the map. If your team can keep them pushed away so they cant mass attack it or sneak a demo around near it then a lvl 3 is really tough to take down. If its all alone then its going to go down quick. A good spy, a combo, or even just a demo or soldier with enough time.

I like the lvl 3 cause when the big push comes it takes a good chunk of the uber to take down the gun. Each sticky or rocket dropped on the gun instead of your teammates is well worth it.

Usually if the map has a lot of flanks/escape routes, a mini will do well. Sometimes teams get so concentrated on one route that the flanks go unwatched.

I still use the lvl 3 the vast majority of the time. When it's wrangled, an uber has to waste most of its life to take down a lvl 3, and it pretty much guarantees that enemies will funnel down another direction making it easier for my team to take them out. It pains me to still see regs using the mini when momentum shifts and we're being pushed back on cps, or on defensive payload. Such a waste.

One thing I really like about the mini is you get 150 health. Get a little buff and you can tank people pretty well with your shotgun as a gunslinger engy. Especially if you are fast and can drop a mini before you start shotgunning.

There's certain maps where the gunslinger does feel like its pretty much a straight upgrade if you have good shotty aim.

But like pimp said, a wrangled level 3 is pretty potent, I don't see many engies that wrangle their level 3's much anymore.

I carry the wrangler around but dont like having my gun wrangled all the time. I wrangle for a push and that works out pretty well. Only downside is once someone figures out what your doing they will do some hardcore flanking to make sure enge dies first.
