Thread: L4D autoban?

Does lonestar autoban somebody when they get votekicked?

I was trying to join Reiskis and Ruukil's game today, so I joined it. Then I realized I had to connect to my VPN (see here for why). So I alt-tabbed out and connected to that, then when I came back to the game, I couldn't join their game because it thought I was still connected on my other IP. So, being the resourceful guy I am, I just told them to votekick me. They did, and once "the old me" was gone, I tried to join again. It told me my steam account was banned. Fortunately, I was able to get back in a few minutes later (after an unrelated computer restart).

Long story to say: I was apparently [temp] banned from the L4D servers for getting votekicked. Is this expected? Is this unrelated to Lonestar?

Gotcha. It was a sad moment when it said I was banned from a TTP server I may or may not have cried a little bit.

So, nevermind E. Keep doin what you're doin. And let me in your L4D game
