Re: A possible new contest?
It's not a number. It's wrinkled skin of wisdom.
I used to agree with everything you said. But now I've seen the other side of TTP and am glad to be back here again.
Pray tell from your youthful flesh - what do you know that I don't? What didn't I see in the wise mens' eyes? Was I blinded? Or educated? Show the wise men the wisdom of your youth and the stupidty of their experiences. Be bold about it. And damnit, get it right. God is watching.

How about mikeN's contributions? He has just over 500 posts now. But when he submitted his first flash banner it was far less then that. His work is what draws people here to TTP from other sites.
Or how about Ewok's contributions? He has less the 2000 posts and he is designing an admin mod for TTP, devoting hour after hour to coding for a community he loves.
Or lets look at it on the other side of the coin... How many people who had 100s or 1000s of posts have been shown the door here at TTP because they weren't teamplayers. Dozens.
I think you do an incredible disservice to all those people who's contributions keep TTP going by saying that post count equals wisdom, status or anything like that. It's contribution to the community that should be the real judge of a person's value.

Arreo,
Exactly. You disagree with my opinion? Fine. You've disagreed with others as well and threatened to quit like a little chump.
But you're still here and I'm still here. Enjoy the source of your wrinkles. Whether you get them here or somewhere else, you will get them. That is inevitable. A potential difference is that here people have enough respect for you to tell why they thumped you and why they respect you.
We communicate and take pride in our wrinkles. Lesser men try to hide them.

I agree that the more time you spend here on the forums the more you learn the true TTP way, but there are exceptions. Wasn't Adsartha's very first post made into an article? Not sure how many posts she has now, too lazy to search so sue me
, but she has more articles than most now, and is an editor for the site. I have seen BD say someone sounds like admin material based on their first post. While we may not know the whole person on their first, or 5,000th for some, post I don't think there is an arbitrary number where it is certain that they have grasped the power that is TTP.
Edit - Kicked the lazy bug and found out she has 180 posts.

but sometimes more time does make things different, for example i admire 11 Bravo, Yahoo and other from BF2 more now then i did when i joined because to me they were good when i joined and i played with them but through the months i've had here, now i admire them because they take a squad of no-bodies and in one round turn them into teamplayers.
