Yea but... l4d has no back-story lol.

it's backstory = "2 weeks after the infection". And that is not much to play off of XD

If you have played L4D2, all the campaigns are linked together in a story line. Also, small clues like, were you bitten, are you a carrier, etc. context clues. You could also comment on Valve's lack of storyline in the game where the opportunity more than afforded itself.

I have a book called Zombie CSU, which basically covers every aspect of a realistic zombie outbreak, from the initial attack from patient zero, to the physiology of the disease, how soon the authorities would realize it was a zombie and not just some nutcase, etc. They have a ton of scientists, chemists, infectious disease experts, doctors, law enforcement, city government officials, etc., as consultants who they refer to and quote quite often.

As of right now, it's packed away in a box somewhere, but I could find it for you if you need it.
