    Request Ban Removal

I was banned from the BF3 TPG server on 18 June at about 745PM EDT. Reason given was Teamkilling.

    Map was Large Operation Firestorm.

Was squad leader with squaddies including Merritt8 and Warprosper (although later was AFK at the time).

Players included Parytball, ElFuriosoGato, blackgold50, Super1_Gunny, and perhaps Dex71.

Have no idea why; had only TK'ed one person earlier in the match by mistake due to smoke obscurring id icon (Partyball). Saw an outline of someone who ran up to one of our tanks; thought it was to place C4 on one of our tanks, but apparently he was trying to fix.

Played for 1-2 minutes more, was killed by a gunman just as I RPGEd an enemy tank, which is when I was kicked (and banned).

I cannot recall any other instance of TK in that round. Had been playing for 2 hours, so maybe I did, but really don't recall doing so. It's not something, obviously, I -ever- try to do.

Got kicked and tried to rejoin immediately, and then 10 minutes later. Both times was denied just as I almost joined; Banned from server due to TK. I've never been kicked before, so took a while for it to sink in that it was a ban in addition to a kick.

    Information as follows:
    BF3 Name: Dreaddman
    BF3 ID: 362662180
Link to Stats: Progression - Dreaddman - Battlelog / Battlefield 3

Please lift my ban if you could. Please let me know what I did wrong, and will gladly rectify and/or never do again.

    Re: Request Ban Removal

Dreaddman, I was your banning admin. On Firestorm there were non-teamplayers flying the transport chopper all round. Partyball and I were driving the tank towards a flag, while not in combat. We were circled multiple times by our friendly transport chopper, taking fire from it. Partyball and I soon entered combat with another tank and won. Your transport helo then landed 200 feet behind us and you started shooting us after about 5 seconds with nobody around, killing Partyball. While it may have been an accident, it sure looked intentional.

I will place your unban vote before the admins. You will have a definitive response within three days.

    Re: Request Ban Removal

I spawned into the gunners position on the chopper while it was on the ground; someoone must have jumped out. You looked a lot closer than 200 feet; I might have been zooming though. So much smoke; we must have been on fire too. Honestly thought I was saving the tank from sure destruction; could definitely see the tanks friendly traingle. Didn't seen any sparks of repair, nor could I make out any ID name or friendly triangle for the shadowed figure. Really thought it was an enemy placing C4; looked to be doing that back and forth motion. I had that sense of urgency. Fired, but the figure was just out of the guns arc. Pilot then rotated into the guns arc for takeoff, which is when I shot him. Usuallly apologize for such accidental TKs, but this helo pilot wasn't flying too well. Felt like it was going down almost after liftoff, so had to quickly bail into "enemy territory". Was pretty much running for my life until I was kicked.

Believe me, there is no way I would ever intentionally TK, and try my best to avoid accidental TKs. That's one of the reasons I rarely use grenades (except Metro); they don't have strings attached to pull them back.

Been playing on the TPG BF3 server for a number of months now. Have made a lot of good friends.

No matter what happens, would very much like to appologize to Partyball. And apologize for not apologizing in-game.

    Edited to add:

Why should my ban be lifted? Answer: I commited an honest mistake.

What would I do differently? Answer: Be more careful. Especially with respect to unidentified personnel obscurred by smoke.

    Re: Request Ban Removal

Dreaddman, because this appears to have been an accidental teamkill, the admins have decided to lift your ban. Please be sure to watch your fire in the future.

Thank you for posting in a respectful manner. You may rejoin the server shortly. Let me know if you have any problems.
