    If you're playing on the PC, which it looks like you are, why not just delete all the sound files of the characters talking, or rename them? This kind of move works for older games but I'm not sure if it would foul up L4D - it's worth a try. Rename the files to "filename.old" and if it fudges things up just remove the .old extension.

    So far I didn't... I'll let the thread know if I manage somehow. I am not excited about the solution since it would require EVERYONE to delete their appropriate wav files :(
