The scar was my original favorite weapon when I first started playing the game. I used it for a couple months and then started experimenting with other guns and fell in love with the Sniper Rifle and magnum combo. I have been sticking to those since but when needed I will grab the AK cuz it's just too damn cool (and powerful) to use. You will RARELY, if ever, find me using the shotguns. I am a accuracy-obsessive shooter and the shotguns just don't do that well.

If you can't be successful with a weapon, then you need to practice. Simple as that.

I don't mind using the Hunting rifle. Its pretty straight forward and I've found that any weapon that's single shot is fun to use. I wouldn't mind seeing a lever action rifle or anything similar being introduced.
I avoid using the grenade launcher though. Friendly fire is a big issue but I just find it to not be so helpful. It does a great job turning regular infected into mist but if a SI isn't caught within most of the blast, they just stumble; your also fucked if you have the launcher out and your snared by a smoker. The constant reloading is also fairly annoying.Parlock: I'm sorry, I'm an idiot who can't read XD.Teenracer6: I hate salt, it's too salty.Parlock: Taking in TP's sweet, sweet buttsweat didn't make me gag

The only thing I find the grenade launcher useful for is to clear out groups of infected that are swarming the bile bomb. One shot kills em all instead of wasting ammo on all of em. It can be useful on tanks from the distance if you are a good shot.

I'm not the kind of guy that gets technical about everything unless it's an assignment for school. I'm just the kind of guy who gets used to whatever and uses it to the best of my abilities. As for weapons in L4D and L4D2, the differences, I have absolutely no idea. For me, apparently the untrained eye, has no differences and perceive them to be the same.
I really don't see any differences. I can adapt to many things without a problem, and that's always been my luck to be able to do so.
I prefer the Ak-47, the Sniper Rifle, and the M-16, as well as the auto-shotgun (The Benilli or whatever? The more slender one) to everything else. But if need be, I can dish out damage and knock those zombies dead with the other weapons.

Actually since the last patch the HR in L4D1 is better in almost every way when compared to the auto-shotgun. The only thing the AS is better at is clearing hordes and spamming bullets at SIs, and tank damage at close range/witch cr0wns of course.
I've seen people laying waste to entire teams with the HR post-patch. A lot of people just don't seem to be able to play SIs effectively with a good HR user on the other team. For example I've seen rock sniping tanks taken out pretty quickly by one HR at range, something I only saw from tier one teams before the last patch.

I seriously don't know how people can notice the subtle differences, unless they look it up or play too damn much.
I play by feel. It's easy for me to adapt. If there's even a difference, then I don't know it. But I doubt it changes anything.
Anyway. I prefer the Hunter Rifle rather than the Grenade launcher. I don't like it. It's god for clearing out hordes, but hordes are always surrounding somebody, and that's where my teammate gets hurt.

I can't watch videos on this computer. Shitty as hell.
But I always do fine.
I'll just take your word for it that there's a difference. I don't see it, I've never went "Oh shit! That's totally messed up!"
