Thread: Banned from 2142 server

1. In short, I got banned for being abusive. While leading a squad attacking the titan, I received an order to defend our titan which I declined. After repeatedly declining the order, I was kicked for not following orders. When I rejoined I was put on the other team which was winning and said "thanks for the kick, I like being on the winning team" at which point I was banned for being abusive.

2. The server was the BF2142 Titan server. I don't remember exactly who the admin was but it was like 5 letters then an underscore then two more letters.

3. I don't think the first kick was justified, as we had plenty of people defending the titan as far as I could tell and most of my squad was attacking the titan, which at that point seemed like the only way we could win because we had been dominated the entire round. I admit the comment I made upon rejoining the server was inflammatory but it was only a joke. I feel that I ran a well-organized and coordinated squad for the previous rounds and enjoy your server and the positive teamwork atmosphere that it provides, which is why I play 2142 in the first place.

4. I will not confront an admin in such harsh terms in the future. If I feel an admin is abusing his power I will take my complaints elsewhere or leave the server.

Well this probably isn't going to help me any, but I feel I should respond.

Doesn't matter what you think. I was your commander. I ordered all the smaller squads that were defending to get back on the ground, and get the silos, placing your 6 man, well equipped sqaud on defense holding the last console (3) and prepping to defend the core.

A six-man squad is a little overkill for defending a single corridor. One or two small squads is all that you really need. Why not have a full, coordinated squad (yes, we moved together most of the time and they spawned on me and followed orders) attack the titan, where they can be at their most useful? From the rest of your post, I gather that they never got past console three so I was right in my assumption that we were OK on defense. That would have put my squad in a good position to attack their titan. And no, their defense was not at all impossible as we had already blown 2 consoles (at least one by me).

You decided to do what ever you wanted to do, so to be NICE, I kicked you.

I think being nice would have been a warning that you must follow orders unquestioningly before just kicking me. I never saw a rule, o nthe loading screen or elsewhere, that you could be kicked for not accepting an order.

Then....you come in the server, running your mouth like you own the place, making a joke of the kick, the server, and the admin.

That's a little overboard. I cracked one line. It was out of line and I apologized.

So let's cut to the chase.....you got banned, straight up, because you think teamplay is a joke, commanders don't know what they are doing, that what you think supercedes what the team is trying to do, and that admins are a joke.

I do not at all think teamplay is a joke. I thought your order was appropriate for the situation. What else should I think when I see a bunch of guys already defending the titan and you want another full squad on it? You should have articulated your battle plan and I probably would have complied but I had no idea what you were trying to do.

and FYI, we snuck back onto their titan, and blew it up in the last moments of the game, seconds after they managed to destroy us by silos.

So we would have won if my squad had been allowed to attack the titan? If you can "sneak" in and blow two consoles the core then that hardly suggests an impossible defense.

THat 10 second difference....where I had to stop and deal with your bullshit.....is the same 10 seconds that we lost by.

We aren't the only two people on our team. Also, I find it really hard to believe that our team can be outplayed for almost an entire match and then as soon as I am kicked everyone suddenly becomes awesome and we just barely get defeated.

Start looking at the game from more perspectives than what YOU think is going to work. You were put on defense, because you were the largest and most prepared squad to do so. You were to relieve the squads that were there, so we could hold more silos having the smaller squads on the ground.

Again, a full squad of six isn't necessary to defend a titan and would be much better in my opinion attacking a titan, especially after we had been getting trounced on the ground. We needed a titan offense, silos were not working.

You were moving to attack, where only 1 friendly teammate was attacking the titan, however my sat scans indicated you were up against an impossible defense, and thus a waste of resources. That's why you wre given the order.

I, and others, had been attacking the titan since the minute the shields went down. I landed at least two transports on the titan and placed beacons and there was more than one other guy. It was not impossible.

too bad that doesn't occur to you, in your big moment of strategeriziationinzing, when you decided to attack, on your own, without orders to do so.

I was not on my own. I was only at the moment you kicked me, and I was about to take an APC where I would be rejoined by other members of the team.

But it's your server, your call.

You show no interest, then we don't care. Locked.
