Thread: Banned - Bacon Lettuce Bauer

I was playing on the CSS server at approximately 13:30 EST with the name "Bacon Lettuce Bauer", whereupon I observed an admin question via (admin) chat why the player emblem's screen was tilted when observed through spectator view. Several people mentioned that it was a glitch, and for anybody that plays CSS regularly, you will know that it is a rather common glitch. I questioned how an admin can become an admin if they do not play enough to be familiar with that glitch. In hindsight, I recognize that admins are chosen and sustained based upon their administration abilities and maturity level, not their playtime. The admin responded with "Bacon, thank you, but iam well aware of what iam doing...if you got a problem, i will show you the door...". I had been expressing my curiosity as to why the admin was unaware of the aforementioned glitch, but with this statement, I saw that the admin was indeed aware of the glitch, and I must have simply misunderstood the original question they had posed. As I felt I had neither "blatantly challenged authority" nor intentionally given any offense, thus breaking none of TTP's rules, I responded with "Feel free admin, I'm well aware of my rights here and how everything at TTP works." By this, I was referring to the rules that I assumed they had felt I had broken, but I felt I had not. Upon rereading this text, I see that "Feel free admin" comes across as far more hostile than it was intended. By it, I only meant that it was up to the admin, being the arbiter of the situation, to decide whether or not my actions warranted any response. Being a former BF2 admin, I am well aware that the admins have the final say in any situation, and it is up to them to handle a situation quickly, and/or to push it to the forums where it does not disrupt play. (I assume) the admin felt that this situation would be better dealt with out of game, and, justifiably so, told me to "take it to the forums...", whereupon I was kicked and banned, so that the issue could be resolved peacefully here.

#1. Why do you think you got banned?

I believe that the admin felt I had violated rule #4, "Blatantly challenge the authority of the admin.", and felt that the issue was better resolved on the forums and not in-game.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?

I was playing on the Texas ...Teamplayer... CSS server. Admin identities are kept confidential, so I will not say who I believe it was, nor do I feel that I can.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?

I play on the server regularly, and play as a team player. I do not feel that rule #4 was violated, however I do feel that the admin was well within his rights to prefer to handle the situation here on the forums, as opposed to in-game.

#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.

I, Lemures/Bacon, will refrain from doing anything that will get me banned again.

I am able to play on the CSS server. Situation resolved.
