Ban Appeal

Was just banned less than 2 minutes ago from the TTP bf2 server. I'll be forward and tell you the situation before I go ahead and accuse the admin of being ban-button happy ;)

A guy and I where standing for the J-10, he got the J-10 I laugh haha, and the tip VERY tip of his j-10 clips me and I die. Well I make the remark "Well crap, you afterburned too fast outta there" jokingly of course. I understand TK for/or infront of a plane is a ban/kick... but seriously I wasn't paying any real attention to how big his wing span was. Didn't sweat it really cause A.) he never said anything, and B.) I figured if it was a quick problem a admin would notify me of the issue, ask what happened, and/or then choose an action. No.. he sat quietly for a minute or so after it happened then banned me.

Not sure who it was that banned me, my player name was Theosis on the TTP bf2 server. Hope this get's straightened out soon. If I have to go back to FCW I'll be highly upset.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?

BF2 Server 1.50... Not sure who was an admin, never do on that server.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?

The circumstances of why I was banned was accidental and completely and utterly unintentional. I see it happen all the time, the accidental tk by planes and people near runways/roads heavy with jeeps. And I'm sure everyone else does too.

#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.

I never do and always will refrain from doing anything that will get me banned purposely or with direct intent.

Thank you for posting in the proper format. Please be so kind as to link us your stats.

I was a direct witness to this event as I saw it occur through my sniper scope while on Daqing Oilfield airfield. I find your side of the story slightly less than truthful. The "very tip" of the airplane did not just barely hit you, therefore killing you. You may want to change your story so that it reflects the truth. The truth matters here. I presume that the person you were talking to when you were "joking" was Ranger 10, your squad leader? He will be around soon to address your ban as he was the one who ordered your ban. I just pulled the trigger.

We take teamkills and force-teamkills very seriously on this server. A comment in jest about a teamkill or force-teamkill is more than enough to get you kicked/banned.

Thank you for posting.

As Potemkine has said, you were not at the edge of the J-10, you were right in the middle. And during the few seconds while the engines spin up, you had plenty of time to get out of the way. You didn't. Instead you stood in front of the jet sped forward until there was no way you were going to be left standing alive.

It was deliberate, and on purpose.

Any story to the contrary is insulting to myself and Potemkine who saw it happen as the commander. We do not find force teamkilling to be acceptable conduct on our server, and had I not been flying, I would have banned you myself.

So, the way I see it, you have two choices, you can alter your story to more accurately depict the incident as it happened, or you can continue saying it was all a big misunderstanding. Your choice. Once you choose your stand on the issue, a vote on your behalf will be put up in the admin forums petitioning for your unban. If the admins feel you have been honest and forthright, the odds of you being unbanned are high. If not, then you will be banned for 30 days at which time you will be able to submit another unban request.

I have no problem detailing the event, however I just didn't want to leave a four page paragraph about the situation lol. So let's begin:

Ranger10 and I where waiting for a J-10. He got the J-10, and as he was in it, I jumped on it as the engines where winding up. I figured 'I have plenty of time till he speeds off I'll just hop off before he starts moving'. And in all honesty I was going too. However, I did misjudged how fast the J-10 took off, he hit the afterburns and it started moving. I pretty much went "oh shit" I jumped off and the wing did clip me (and from the camera where it switches instantly to when you get killed it looked like I barley hit the tip, that's why I said the tip of the wing). I understand TKing is a serious problem for those being lame and killing your score... I hate it when it happens to me, and I hate it when I accidentally tk someone whether it be from a plane cause they where being careless around it (like I was in this situation) or when I dropped bombs and hit a teammate accidentally. For the most part I am VERY sorry to Ranger10 for the incident. It was an accident but an accident on my part due to carelessness.

And about my comment about the TK in-game. I was just pretty much metaphorically stating that "I misjudged your takeoff when using the afterburners".

Hope that covers everything, oh yea.. I did put a couple rounds in the fuselage when he got in, but didn't do any damage to him with him being in the airfield... lol trying to make sure I put everything in there that happened. If I left anything out Ranger10, please correct me. All in all, my one moment of carelessness got me banned. In my eye's (trying to be unbiased) it was careless but it was one event and I'm not a previous abuser on the server or flamer/tker/rule breaker for the 1+ year I've been playing on TTP BF2.

Thank you for your patience. At this time the admin community has voted to remove your ban effective immediately. While many felt your insistence that the incident was an error and accidental to be less than favorable, we feel the message conveyed is enough to prevent incidents like this from occurring the future. Many admins spoke highly of you in regards to your time on our servers thus far, and we feel you are a good teamplayer.

In the future, please remember our servers are well staffed with admins looking for disruptive behavior and that nothing goes amiss. You may return to the server at your leisure.
