Thread: Why was I band?

Profile ID:48755651 First off I'm 40 years old not some punk kid. I was on your server tonight and was band and I don't know why. It said I was band for team killing by PB or admin. I had not team killed any one on accident or any other way. I am not that kind of player I have never been band before in my life in over 12 years of gaming. I am a admin on a Joint ops sever and have been for years so I understand problem players and I'm not one of them. How can I get this cleared up or find out what it was that I did so I can not do it again. I'm not here to make problems I enjoy your server. I just want to fix this.

I am your banning admin. Although your unban post is not in easy format to read, it looks as though you have covered the questions we ask. You were not banned for team killing, but rather your chat. Would you care to elaborate for me what your were talking about on our server?

I ran into a person I have not see in over 4to5 years He saw my player name and he said he joined the Army shortly after the last time we spoke. It was exciting to hear from him so I told him how to reach me. It was either stop by our web site or stop by our server or Yahoo. It was the only way I could think of to tell him with out giving my personal info over the server. Was that bad to do? I didn't mean to cause any problems. Did I say something els that I am missing?

It's a Joint Ops server. It's the server I admin on. All I wanted to do was to talk to him. I moved my family from Central Point Oregon to Southern California so my Email was different and I didn't know what other way I could use to get in touch. That's why I gave all the different choices.

Very well. You were in fact banned for advertising on our servers. We take advertising of other communities or server addresses on our TTP property very seriously. When players advertise on our server it undermines our community.

While I understand you were trying to communicate with a player you have not seen or heard from in years, in chat we see it as a player trying to entice others to join another community or gaming server. This will result in that person being banned and subsequently why you were banned.

The process now is that a vote will be put up to the admin community to decide whether or not you will be allowed back the server. This vote process will last no more than 3 days and you will need to check this thread for updates.

One last item, please modify your last comment and remove the server address from your post.

Ok I understand what is wrong. I didn't mean to do what you might have thought I was doing. I guess It being a 8 year old game never crossed my mind that it was a threat. Thanks for the consideration I hope we can clear this up. I will return to the thread to check on it.

I noticed in your profile links to a steam account, 2142 account, and bf2 account. We host those games and more. Take a look around the forums. You will find this is the greatest team play community on the planet. Hopefully you will get involved in the forums as much as you have been involved in our bf2 server.
