Thread: By the mercy of TTP BF2 admins

BF2 account name is "gmakerpyro".

I believe I was banned for team-killing my commander on Operation Road Rage. I was under the impression that he had planted C4 under a scout chopper spawn point to grief it, and had previously TKed my teammate, but it turned out to be another guy.

I'll avoid team killing completely in the future.

Right map, different incident. You were banned for repeated TKs against teammates when the same got the chopper and you and your buddy didn't. Instead of letting the pair in the chopper fly, you decided to C4 them, after which the aggrieved began to TK you in retaliation.

I would also like you to address an incident on 04/21, on Operation Clean Sweep on the US side. You and another teammate took it upon yourselves to continuously spam "boat spotted" messages, completely covering CPs under contention and making it impossible for your team to distinguish legitimate enemies from your spam on the map. After several complaints you were kicked:

While it's not directly related to your ban, it does go to demonstrate what kind of teamplayer you are and to what regard (or rather, lack of regard) you hold your fellow teammates.



So, what it boils down to is "why". Why would you think that teamkilling anyone at any time was an acceptable action to take, regardless of their previous actions? Why, if you had a problem with another player, didn't you tell the admins so that they could deal with the situation? Why do you think it's acceptable to deliberately harm your team by spamming messages until no one can see anything?

What I see before me is a self-centered non-teamplayer who is only looking for his own entertainment, and screw anyone else getting in the way. It doesn't matter who gets hurt or if the team wins or loses just as long as you get what you want. That's not the kind of people we put back on the server.

So help me out here, convince me that this ban has totally reformed your ways and you're 110% for the team and not just yourself, that you'll never teamkill again and will let the admins deal with problems in future, and that you're not just here because it's a full server with a good ping that you think you can screw around in.

Because I'm not seeing it.

I always join or start up a squad and try to play to win. I have a mic, and I use it appropriately. There's not too much else I can say, other than I enjoy your servers, and would like to continue playing on them.

I admit to both the copter fighting and the radio spam (I think nostalgia combined with some lack of judgement and being tired incited that, it has been a few years since I've played BF2). I am not affiliated as far as I know with the other guy who started spamming it, he was just mimicking me.

I think the other two guys started the copter thing by camping the pad and shooting at me when I approached after I had crashed, but that may not have been the case. I will exercise my better judgement from now on and avoid this kind of stuff, and ask for an admin if something is bothering me. Sorry if it affected your server reputation.

Pyro, do you have any other accounts that you play under? We ask because the account you linked to and were banned under was created in 2006, but only has ~16 hours of playtime on it, which is very low for such an old account.

Also, your stats page says the account was created in the US, but the IP you have been playing under puts you in Denmark, is this correct? Why the change of location?

For other accounts, not as far as I remember or still use. Like I said, I just started playing again after a few years (and buying the game again on Steam). Maybe my hours got reset when I changed the game key? Or any of those number of times where they lost account info.

Also, I am from Massachusetts, USA, not Denmark. My University is my ISP.

By a vote of the BF2 admins you have been unbanned and are free to return to the server.

If you have a problem with a TKer in the future, call it to the attention of the admins but take no action yourself. Let them deal with it.
