    Un-Ban Request: Raguncajun

I received this notice when attempting to log onto the BFBC2 server:

#1. Why do you think you got banned?

I am assuming it stems from this video: http://www.xfire.com/video/324551/

Which I took after a problem player had already TK'd me and several other players in our main base. Since the ban notice states "Provoking TK", I must assume that my video was interpreted differently from it's intended purpose.

The vid starts with my re-spawn after I was first TK'd by this person. I then moved closer to the problem player so I could get his name spelled correctly to post in the "Problem Players" thread, along with the video. I do not believe I cornered the guy, or impeded his ability to move around, being as he had no difficulty in taking two shots at our chopper, moved back, TK'd another teammate standing next to me, moved and TK'd me again, then TK'd yet another teammate.

I have been accidentally TK'd before, I have accidentally TK'd others, I've also caused myself to be accidentally TK'd by my own actions. But I have never deliberately placed myself into a situation that would cause another player to TK me to the detriment of that player, or my team.

Be that as it may, if it's the admin's opinion that I provoked or caused a forced TK from my actions, then I defer to his/her opinion, and I'll take responsibility for my actions accordingly.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?

The single TPG BFBC 2 server. Not sure, I'd be guessing to say a name. At the time, none that I was aware of, which compelled me to take a video for the benefit of those who would want to know what happened.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?

Obviously this is the one place I never expected to see my name mentioned. This is embarrassing, and somewhat humiliating to say the least. I've not consciously or purposely broken the rules of TPG, and TPG is not at risk of me willfully disregarding the rules or regulations as I know them.

#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.
"Keep in mind, you are now on the short list of people needing to be banned. Even a minor slip-up will get you back in the hole." Well, this kind of says it all doesn't it?

If anybody, cares about their reputation, and the opinions of their fellow players, as well as, the representation they make of TPG and their resident clan as much as I do, then clearly greater care must be taken to avoid situations like these from ever happening again. This I will unquestionably do.

I am your banning admin, Ragun.

Unfortunately, I'm stepping out the door for work, so I will be in to deal with your situation this evening.

You also need a link to your stats.

Really? I suggest a second viewing of the video. You didn't just move closer to him; you could see his nametag equally well from the back as from the front. No, what you did was move in front of his line of fire, disrupting his shot and forcing him to focus on you. When he tried to move away to get a clear shot again, you put yourself in his line of fire again. You're provoking him. Given that his barrel was not pointed in Aigy's direction, I believe his TK there was as a result of the larger hitboxes and having to make a tight shot between teammates who were dogging him. But notice, that even after Tanker decides to unload his shotgun into him, he doesn't turn and retaliate. In fact, while you're typing, he calmly moves off, reestablishes his sniping position, and continues to play. AGAIN, you deliberately disrupt his game and put yourself in his line of fire, trying to provoke him into TKing you. This vigilantism at its worst. Again, he tries to make a move to get around you and fails, shooting you instead. The only unprovoked TK on the video is his of Tanker after shooting you.

At no point other than your intervention were his shots at teammates; they were all pointed at enemy positions.

The logs indicate that prior to your incident, Guitar had had another TKing altercation with another teammate. It's safe to assume that he thought the three guys standing around him, all with the same clan tag on, dogging his every move and disrupting his game were looking to mess with him some more.

Instead of bringing in solid evidence of an actual TKer, you put in him into a corner and then baited him until he TKed you out of frustration or fear. That's not how we do things at TPG, and that's not the level of teamplay we expect out of long-time regulars and resident clan members. For all that we know, his first TK on you might have been an honest mistake or a bad judgement call; after all, the video is evidence enough that he's not exactly the world's best sniper. But instead of asking for an admin's attention to the matter, you took it upon yourselves to play the vigilante and try to get him banned by offering up coerced evidence. Unfortunately, all it's done is implicate you and some of your fellow clan members as non-teamplayers.

Do you have anything else to add before I put you to a vote?

    Very well.

I will put a vote to the BC2 admins, which will last no more than 3 days. Check this thread for the results.

    Re: Un-Ban Request: Raguncajun

I would like to say something. About him TKing me, when watching the video, you could tell that I (Aigy) was standing completly still. Also if you watched the TK and saw how I died, you would notice that it was a headshot. Now his sniping skills could be REMARKABLY horrible but for him to hit a perfect headshot on a teammate standing still, it seems pretty intentional to me. Now when Ragun was taking the video at that point he was also to the side. He MOST likely wasn't in the shot at all. So, personally, I believe that you saying that I died because of us two dogging him is a complete falsehood. Now everything else after that I cannot explain except that I did also say the kill him, which you could probably hear, and Tanker may have taken it as less than a joke than I may have put it although after hearing it even to me it doesn't sound like a joke. Maybe I should put that segment under Tanker's request but seeing that you are both of their admin I think it should be fine.

    Ragun,

By a vote of the BC2 admins, your ban is sustained. You are eligible to appeal this decision in no less than 30 days.
