Thread: Banned for unknown reason

1. Why do you think you got banned?
I truly have no idea why I was banned. I was playing as T on de_season at the time, roughly around round 5 or 6, and 2 seconds into the next round I was banned. After looking over some of the other banning reasons on this forum, I noticed that some individuals had been banned because they were not following the stated strat. I thought this may have been the reason I was banned; however, there was little to no communication going on in this game. I have double checked my voice receive volume to see if I was simply not hearing the in-game conversation; however, my volumes are set to max. Previously, on de_nuke, I had moved to spec, and then back to CT. I then learned this was against the rules after an admin message had broadcast to all players about it. So, I didn't do it again. This was on de_nuke however, not de_season. I would simply like to know why I was banned.

#2. What server were you on? What admin do you believe banned you? What admins were there playing?
The server was TeamPlayerGaming.com CS:S IP: 184.173.90.91:27015. My player name was Neb STEAM_0:1:822215. Since there was no communication whatsoever, I have no idea who banned me. However, given the server and time of my ban being roughly 4:30am EST, I am sure someone here knows who that is.

#3. Why should you be unbanned?
I do not believe I had done anything to warrant a ban.

#4. A written statement that you will refrain from doing anything that will get you banned again.

Since I didn't do anything to start with, I have no problem stating that I will refrain from doing anything that warrants a ban in the future.

I spec switched one time, on Nuke. I ceased this activity when I saw the admin broadcast. As for bunny hopping, Valve has made it so that ability can be severely limited per server. So, even if one is bunny hopping it truly makes no difference in their speed. Having said that, if I did bunny hop, I can't imagine it was more than one hop, as I really suck at it and just do it out of habit. Had I seen an admin message pertaining to this, I certainly would have stopped. Unless you are all communicating in a channel or vent server that I was not connected to, I never saw a single call in the chat box, nor did I hear anyone ever talk using the in-game voice option. So, if you were indeed making calls. I was certainly not receiving them. Other than the admin broadcast to all players on nuke pertaining to spec switching, there was absolutely no other admin communication what-so-ever as far as I had noticed. I would advise you try to speak more directly towards individuals breaking your rules in the future. I've noticed this thread is filled with people completely confused as to why they were banned. Unless your objective is to increase traffic to your website, it is truly inefficient and a waste of everyone's time.

I have read over your rules. It may be possible that I was simply not receiving your admin-messages or strat calls. Perhaps my max FPS config has disabled some communication features. I can assure you that I was not ignoring any calls or messages. I do believe teamwork is an important aspect of this game. You may begin the vote to unban me if you wish. I do hope that voicing one's opinion and/or defense does not bear too heavily upon your decisions. Having read through some other bans on this website, I do have some concerns.

If you did indeed send those messages, they did not appear on my side. I do run a max FPS config, and it is possible that the reason I never saw any chatter is because it has disabled that feature. However, it makes little sense to me that the admin message on nuke would be viewed, but not the others. I can also see chat in other servers. Perhaps you were sending these messages via another channel that is not viewable by the public and did not realize. I truly have no reason to lie. I do not frequent your servers. This was the first time I have even joined the server, so I am not trying to bs my way back in. The fact is, somewhere between you typing the message and me receiving it, something broke down. If you could supply a chat log of the evening we could find out more. Though, I hardly believe this situation is worth the time. Please do not confuse my explanations as an attempt to be un-banned. At this point, I am responding because it has been assumed that I intentionally broke rules and ignored you, which is not the case. I am far above such childish activity. If you are able to understand and accept that, I will be satisfied.

Posting as a witness, I was there for both maps.

You say that maybe the admin mistyped it into another channel. However, in the above quote you admit that you saw the warning about speccing for cash. Therefore, it's nearly impossible that you didn't see the warning to follow the calls....as they are/were both done through god chat. They DID appear on your side, as they go to all players on the server.

You were on my team when you specced for cash.
