Thread: BF3 - Banned?

Slightly confused, and looking for a little help here.

1) Entirely uncertain - had engaged in very little in game activity as of yet tonight. To this point it had been more of an effort to actually get in the game then anything. This happened about 10 minutes ago.

After spending about 20 minutes trying to fix an issue where I was receiving nothing excepts a black loading screen when attempting to launch into the server I tried another server and got in without issue. I concluded that the issue may be as a result of a full server that wasn't notifying me properly (we know Origin can be tricky). I refreshed the server list for a while and eventually noted everyone was out of the server - appeared to be a server crash. I subsequently logged in.

Excuse me for not citing the map, but I'm not yet familiar with them. I got into the game and a jet was available on the carrier - I spawned directly into it. I engaged one enemy fighter who was shot down while approaching our by the essex. From there I headed back to look for more action - I was taking fire and bailed over the farthest enemy flag (again, apologies for not being familiar with names).

After bailing on the flag I shot out the driver of a fast mover and proceeded to move into a position to cap the flag. I neutralized the flag at which point I realized that my voip was not working. I tabbed out of the game to check teamspeak and saw that I was in the lobby, and hadn`t been moved into a channel with my squad. In fact there we users in my squad`s channel that weren`t in my squad (Endeavour was the only guy I remember who was in it iwth me) - I double clicked on the channel to see if could enter it, it prompted me for a password, realized I couldnt do anything right then so I went to go back to the game.

Here it appeared to me that the game had crashed. I went to launch in on TPG again and received a message that I had been banned. I promptly made my way over here to see about getting that cleared up.

Will add an additional note that I had recently changed my user name from ParadigmedSST to ParadigmedFP (+ clan tags) incase that plays into anything.

End of the day if the ban was intentional it would have been one of three things:
i) My attempting to log in multiple times while I was trying to debug the black loading screen was somehow related to the server crash that followed
ii) The driver of the fast mover I killed was actually a teammate - I think this is unlikely as I was on a distant enemy flag where I had bailed, and I`m pretty sure I saw positive points register. That said it`s not a comfortable game yet, and I was just settling in, so its possible.

iii) There`s some sort of mechanism in teamspeak I`m not aware of that I tripped when trying to move into my squad.

2) I was on the BF3 TPG server. Unclear which admin may have been involved.

3) I`ll refrain from answering until I`ve got a better sense of context.

4) As per above, answer to follow once I`ve got context.

I am your banning admin. The incident as I remember it was I hopped into a jeep... you came running at me and TKed me, hopped in the jeep and drove off. The message came up with your name and my name both in blue on my screen (meaning a TK) and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a blue name tag above your head as you were coming at me. However, going back and looking at the logs to double-check myself, it appears you were on the opposing force. My recollection could be completely wrong, or it could just be the lovely tag bug that every Battlefield game seemed to have in one form or another for ages. You're a long-time reg of our servers, and I'm going to admit I'm wrong in this case and remove your ban without any further actions required. This was definitely my bad, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

You should be able to re-join our servers effective immediately.
