Canadian TV War
The lineup stretched around the building as more than a thousand people came out Saturday to support CTV Ottawa’s “Save Local Television” campaign and tour the studio where iconic anchorman Max Keeping delivers his nightly newscast.
“I have to support CTV. I’ve been watching CTV for more than 25 years, since I came here from Singapore,” said J.P. Foo, as he stood in line waiting for his turn to enter. “Max Keeping. The six o’clock news. The 11 o’clock news. It’s like bread and butter to us.”
His sentiments were echoed by many in the line, from 87-year-old Alan Griffin, who’s been tuning in to the CTV news for 50 years, to 15-year-old Harrison Shirreff, who moved to Ottawa from Toronto just a year ago.Originally Posted by David Lynch
