Thanks you make me wana cry .

p.s. Those tears cost money, you will have to pay be double for scrim time (total of = 0$)

    I'm Making A Game!

Yes, that's right, I'm making a game. it will be named Holdout, and be a group of soldiers holding out in several locations from zombies for as long as they can. Well, why don't we just play L4D?

It'll have iron sights, grenades, melee weapons, 16 player support and customizable skins. Oh, and it'll be free.
A downside is since Source is a rickety engine, it'll take a while. About five to six years. Until then, I'll be coming up with ideas. Send me some in an PM and tell me what you think!

Seems like a pretty good idea. Kinda vague though.
Not to say that's bad. I mean, what's Left 4 Dead? Survive from one area to the next. :P

Five years huh!? That's an awful lot of time. You also want to make it free. I'd see that choice changing in five years of work lol.

    Advice:
Obviously this is your game, make it however you see fit, but maybe I could throw some ideas out there.

I love the idea of leveling up(I don't know how you will implement skin unlocks), but some games get boring after fully leveling up. If you plan to have a leveling system be careful of this.

There are some games that I've played that had great potential, but the controls were bad or the character actions were too stiff. A great example is Rainbow Six Vegas 2. The game was great, but I was turned off pretty quickly as the movement was extremely stiff. You were almost forced to play one way. Combined with controls that seemed a little abstract to me, it could have been great.

There will be over 100 levels in the game, with attachments, skins, and characters available as you level up. There will be loads of guns and weapons, mostly from Gmod sweps (I will give credit) Free! Oh, and there will be 24 player multiplayer.

Out of curiosity, what programming language will you be coding your game?

It might be C++, but Java is easier for me to use.

Cool! one time i made a game. or tried anyway. You seem really determined on this. don't give up and it should turn out great.
When i tried making a game, it was about a little ball of mass destruction, and as you progressed it got bigger and more lethal and stuff. I created a basic character, fire animations, some water(complete with animation) and a basic soldier which was still bugged at the time.

But my computer was hit by a virus and I was forced to restart my game.

As for ideas, i have to have a basic idea of the type of zombies. Slow? Fast like l4d? Also if it requires teamwork like l4d. because l4d was very focused on teamwork.

Also, Six years is a while. maybe you could get some friends or maybe a basic team going to speed up the process and get more ideas.

I think I might do it like COD zombies, where the zombies get stronger and faster with each wave
    Weapon List!
    Assault Rifles:
    M16 (three burst shot)
    AK-47 (automatic)
    G3 (semi automatic)

    Sub Machine Guns:
UZI (very fast, but has barely and accuracy/damage, small mag of 20 rds)
MP5 (common ground SMG, fires decently and has moderate power. 32 rd mag.)
MP7 (slow firing smg, but is most powerful and most accurate, along with 45 rd magazine)

    Pistols:
    M1911 (medium pistol)
    Glock 22 (fast, weak pistol)
Deagle (slow fire but very powerful)

    Snipers

    M40A3 (bolt action)
    Dragunov (semi auto)

    Shotguns:
    Streetsweeper (semi auto)
    Spas 12 (pump)
    USAS 12 (automatic)

    Specials:

    Remington (bolt action)
    RPG (self explanatory)
    that's all for now folks
