    Hi folks

I've had BF3 on the PC for a few weeks now. Mury Mcstrange and I have been dealing death and general bad feelings to any and all we come across here lately.

Hopefully we can meet up and start a platoon/tea party/clog dancing team or whatever the heck a squad is called in origin these days.

If anyone would like to team up with us let me know and we'll see about hopping over to play with the old crew!

If I understand right, you guys all have to use teamspeak...do you have different channels for each squad or is it just mass microphone chaos?

P.S. - Alundil what the hell is going on. I checked your stats and I have more time behind a bolt action than you do. I feel like I just fell into an alternate universe.

Welcome! The TS server is setup to take you from the BF3 channel and place you in the squad that you join in game with. Join up and experience a whole new level of BF3.

Hey man, look me up on origin

    soldier name is phyrelightaz

<----link to BF3 profile is to the left

With TS3 auto squad chat enabled it takes TPGs BF3 to a whole new level. I have tried playing on other (SQDM etc during the day) and its just not the same without the VOIP

Hi there Red. LOL @ the bolt action time. I've found that Recon in BF3 is not as helpful to the team as it was in previous titles (2142 and BC2 even) so I try and use kits that are more useful even though I really would love the bolt action goodness. I will gladly be more helpful to the team instead of camp in the hills like the majority of the snipers/recon I see in BF3.

As to coms, we use a custom built TeamSpeak (TS) plugin that was developed for TPG. It works pretty well and swaps people from squad to squad appropriately. Not the same as built in VOIP (a al 2142) but better than the Party VOIP that Origin foists on us.

Looking forward to running in some squads with you and Mury again though. That'll be a lot of fun.

    Origin name is .........

    Over there <--

but Alundil is it in case you don't want to clicky clicky

    Re: Hi folks

    It's Redeye755

There is a ps3 and pc profile there.

I find recon to be pretty useful. The infantry scanner is handy, spawn beacons can be, and SOFLAM lockdown is fun.

Not as useful as the others, but they have their place.

If you even enjoyed a UAV above your head you know that the recon class is helpful to the team XD

I know that they can be useful to the team. However, on most maps they are less useful than another engi/medic/supply guy. It's heartbreaking to me, honestly. But it is still true for the most part.

(though guilty admission inbound - I was in a squad with Phryelight and Potemkine yesterday on Sharqi and knifed a sniper on top of the crane overlooking C/D/E, took his L96 and proceeded to hit people across the map with it....had never used that rifle before....so that was a lot of fun and gave me some hope for the recon kit - because I don't so much care for the other rifles that I've been able to use yet).

I was pulling off some crazy shots all the way to tv station....was fun
