    L4D, TF2

Is it worth the investment to get these games for on-line play? I have been playing CSS for the past several months and truly enjoy it. But I am always open to playing something different.

TF2 is an awesome game. It's cartoony, and is pretty diffrent from Cs:s. But it is really worth the investment of 20 bucks for 100's upon 1,000's of hours of mindless (sort of), limb blowing, rocket shooting fun. Left 4 Dead and is expensive, and no matter what they say, can get a little repetitive. It's worht it though, but I'd say TF2 first, then Left 4 Dead.
Me: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."
    Me: "Have fun?" "Hahaha"

If you want L4D though, now is the time as it is 50% off for this weekend only.

I just got it myself after playing the demo a while back. Some people can be asswholes, but for $25 I'd say it is worth the investment.

TF2 is a load of fun and requires a lot of teamwork. It is a different scene though from CS as you have to constantly work as a team in order to win, and if you don't have everyone working as a team, you can and will easily loose the map.

Do you recomend downloading the source code from STEAM, or should I pick up a copy from Gamestop? REason I ask is that a buddy downloaded the CS:S and there are glitches, like his mike doesn't work during gameplay -- very annoying.

I personally have only downloaded one thing from Steam, and that was L4D yesterday. No problems so for though with the actual download and all that itself.

Other than that I can't say since I usually buy from the store unless a game I want is on sale for a much cheaper price (50% off L4D...yeah I'll but it off Steam instead of the $50 in store still). I like having a hard copy of my games in case something happens and someone tries to screw me over on my Steam account later.

What can I say though, I am paranoid.

    Agree.

TF2 is AMAZING for competition as well as public server play.
It is completely team oriented, a skilled player cannot carry a team like in Counter-Strike.

You could be the best soldier in the world and get dominated by a smart scout, spy, or uber-ed enemy.
