Re: Sniper Kit
It all comes down to skill with the sniper kit. Some guys can be effective with it, but most (99%) cannot. And a fresh noob with paddles is infinitely more valuable to the squad than a half decent sniper. If you're gonna play sniper in my squad on offence, you damn well better be leet.
Of course, if everyone thought that way, there would be no leet snipers... But I'm ok with thatFor when the One Great Scorer comes, to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the Game

I specifically chose to NOT get on the flag in many cases... It's a choice that has developed over many hours of understanding of this game. Now if the squad leader was smart enough to stay off the freakin flag, then I wouldn't have to worry now would I.... but not all squad leaders are so inclined; so then I must take it upon myself to do the smart thing. I will do this everytime!
Great point civil, and thanks for bringing it up.

Re: Sniper Kit
I think flag capping has been a discussion before. The key is not to have everyone piled directly on the flag but to spread out across the flag cap area so that one bomb run or well placed nade does not wipe out the whole squad. I SL alot and I will get in the edge of the flag zone to help cap but rarely do I get directly on the flag. Everyone should be watching the perimeter for spawners.

Re: Sniper Kit
For my part, if I want a sniper kit in my squad, I'll ask for it. If I've no opinion either way, I'll let it slide if I have one (ONE). However, there are times that I do NOT want one.. and if I have to ask for the sniper to get a different kit on respawn (and if I do that, you can bet I'm watching) and they don't, I'll ask again (just in case I missed a medic revive and they didn't actually spawn), ... if I ask again and do see it, they get the boot.

Re: Sniper Kit
I find snipers to generally be useless, even a hinderance as they draw fire from much farther away when they miss those long range shots but somebody hears them.
On the other hand, there are situations, especially on flag defense at key locations, where a sniper can be useful, as mentioned previously.
I must say I love to play sniper, and some of my best, most ass kickinest rounds were as sniper. And I was no wall flower, I was on the flag with the rest of the infantry. And if you look at my ratio of claymore kills and time spent as sniper, and compare it to others, you may shit your pants. I am a claywhore and use them VERY effectively to defend or attack. And yes, I have saved flags via claymore and a couple lucky shots.
I am actually thinking i may go play sniper a hell of a lot now that I got new glasses (my accuracy is very poor, but my perscription was 8 years old). I think they look the coolest and want one on my sig!

Re: Sniper Kit
I'd have to agree with you guys, the only time i would go sniper is if im soloing, or if theres alot of people and i can get a good range to take out alot of them to easy up the load on the flag, but other than that i go medic is crucial in any sqaud and its the most useful kit. :9
