Thread: Best Squad Score

TTP was empty earlier today so I joined another server in a squad with some guys from (6th) AD and we got a squad score of 475. Most everyone had 80 points. I think it was possible because the server was only 3/4 full but it was still great squad work.

I think my best here on TTP was in the 300s.

The key to the high point rounds is not just having good players in the squad. The main problem I have been seeing on TTP lately is people don't stay with the squad and move to the objective with the squad. I look at the minimap and there are two guys with me and 3 guys at other places. (Not going off on that tangent though). On the high scoring rounds the squad is constantly working together reviving squadmates, capping the flags full force, and bringing the kits needed to get the job done.

It is the SL's task to stay alive and get the squad in position to take the objective but really the SMs do ALL the work and should get the credit. If you are SL and you have not been revived by an SM all round then chances are you will not have a high squad score. You can have the best SL but if the SMs aren't supporting the squad then chances for a good squad score are slimmer. ALL you guys that SL know this to be true.

Walker and Lump I have had plenty of good rounds with both of you so that is not true. It isn't just about your ability to kill someone, that is why there are 5 other guys in the squad to kill the people that kill you then revive you. Revives and getting on the flag for a quick turn help alot. I have finished many a round gold medal with a k/d less than 1 because I was getting revives, capping and defending flags. If you look at the best squads you will notice that it is hard to kill them all. You get two or three and then they all get revived and roll right through or they spawn right back on the SL and get the job done. That is how a good squad rolls.

Wolverine...over 400 on TTP is awesome. I know in my 300 point rounds it felt like we owned the map. Lump I saw you get a 300+ round recently when we were both SL on the same team and that was the first time I ever got a 250+ squad score and did not have best squad.

Anyone else get over 400 on a full server?

Many times, when I'm not on the Squad Leader, it's because they die to often (and why can't we revive the Squad Leader, because they have put themselves in the heat of the battle, where revive is not an option)... and end up spawning on the other side of the map with new objectives.... Meanwhile, I'm still alive killing on the other side of town. In this case, I will never make it back to the Squad Leader unless I get shot (which is easier said than done).

My advise Slow, stay safe and get out of the heat of the battle in you want your Squad to remain with you at all times. Then you're leading the charge by providing a place to spawn. Quite often Slow, when I'm in your Squad, I see you right there with me at the flag, and then I see you get blown up with all of us as well. Those that stay alive, are now on their own as you've already respawned at a new location....

If you stay alive, then there's no reason whatsoever that your guys should not be with you at all times.... as you are now their Spawn point. It's a no brainer now.

Not being critical Slow, just something that I have recognized over the MANY, MANY months we have played together.

I don't think this counts for much since it was 16 of us on Strike at Karkand. But my Squad got around 1k points with only 4-5 people. we played with 300 tickets per side and they never got capped out, and it was infantry only. Which also gave me my outragious best round of 300something points.

Yeah, I was really trying my best to be modest. I have been in a lot of high scoring squads and honestly have even been the point leader in those squads from time to time. I think my best squad while leading mounted some 400+ points on Karkand while I have been in a squad that GMG lead that scored over 500 points one time. I didn't record those events because it was prior to me figuring out how to SS and use x-fire properly.

I like to go point between flags, and it gets me killed a lot, but that's how I like it. And sometimes I want to get in on the action and will rush the flag with my guys. But if it's a crucial cap, I'll stay back.

I play this game to win, certainly, but if I'm not having fun in the process, I won't be playing much. And if I didn't like to be in the action, I'd be playing Civ or something like that. So let the SL have some fun, eh?

The between method is the Ideal method, obviously.

Besides, I've been on the receiving end of the "why aren't you on green" scenario, and above is my explanation. It happens, and I just wanted to share my interpretation of why it sometimes happens; not being on the Squad Leader.
