Thats calc II Calc II is integration and all it's forms...

    Calc III was the best.

On top of the Calc 1 to 4, my CS prgram also required discrete math, applied Linear Algebra, Statistics for Scientists and engineers, Discrete math 1 & 2, Differential equations, And a bunch of choose your own required credits in math.. I chose ring and field theory as well as Analysis...analysis is insane. But yeah, CS degree is super math intensive...

*shudder* DiffEq. That was required as well. That was one of the make or break math courses for CS majors at my school. I broke much earlier. I made it through Calc I - III and Discrete Math 1. Calc IV and Discrete Math 2 are what scared me off.

    Good Job JB.

I had to take Calc I through Calc III and Differential Equations. I think I had the toughest time with Calc. II. Moving forward on the math or is that all you needed?

As I noted before the Calc II dropped about half the CS/Engineering students at the college I went to. Next stop was Calc 4 and Diff. Equations. But if you got a B+ in calc II you should be good to go. And if you didnt go on Civ 4 marathons you might do even better!

Seriously though, give yourself a slice of cake or two if you have not already...

    Wtf is your Grade scale?

    I had 95-100 A, 86-94 B, 79-85 C, 70-78 D, 69- F
He said he got a 79 on the final and his final grade for the course was a B+

The CS program I was in required Calc I-IV, Discrete Math 1 & 2, and Statistics. Very heavy on math. Probably the reason I dropped out of the CS program. MIS FTW! Business Math 1 & 2 and Accounting 1 & 2.
that sounds about right, I don't need to go on to Calc 3 Thank GOD! but I got discrete and everything else, no diffies either.

no taylor and Maclurian were there good ole f'(0)/1! x^1

And to those trying to figure out my grade. I got a C+ however the class average was a D-.

He scaled the grades 10 points more or less. I'm not complaining because a B+ is sweet.

But did you actually do any expansions? Like find an infinite series that describes sinusoidal functions? You got a preview... It blew my mind and added a lot of final closure to finally have a mathematical method to calculate those "black box" functions...Log, Sin/Cos/Tan/etc, e^x, etc...

Analysis was insane...we analyzed 3 problems. About 50 pages each... those images of blackboards covered from beginning to end with one complex formula you see in the movies are what happens in Analysis.

    Re: Take that Calc 2!

i covered those in calc 2...thats why i mentioned them?

Expansions are freaking amazing. *shows his math nerdness* When my professor expanded E^x i was like "omgwtflulz?", well not really, but i was really just struck by how powerful calculus was at that point.

Did you do error analysis in calc 2? Euler's, etc.?

Also in calc III, but barely.

And yeah, when I did the first expansion, for sin I believe, I was like holy sh!t! It really struck me right then just what that math is truly capable of.

My calc III was nothing but series and sequences and then expansions followed by error and some cool ass word problems (The Sierpinski Carpet, etc.). In the end we did a few vector samples for calc IV, but it was really focused on the previous.

My calc II was all about integration but started with a couple of weeks of optimization problems and using L'hopitals rule for finding some indeterminate forms. But after that, all integration, by parts, by substitution, by trigonometric substitution, by partial decomposition, etc... really brutal for many of the students. And then at the end we used these to do 3d solids using varying methods (rotational volume, etc...) What kicked my ass the most was a problem using a partial decomposition then after some algebra a trigonometric substitution and then getting a 3d volume using it...hated that one.

But it was a battle well fought and I celebrated after I won.

    Re: Take that Calc 2!

Great job, man, really. I've got such deep respect and admiration for peeps who can pull off calc2 with a B or better. I took calc 2 three times .. twice I got a D, then the third time i failed. i figured "fuck calc and all other math" and finished with a bs in anthropology (still had to take intro to stats / elementary stats / intermediate stats) but I HATE MATH!! mostly trig identities and other bullshit like that. blech.

    congrats again, im' jealous. :4

    mmmmhmm

Integration lasted half the semester and then the other half was series and sequences. We were about to go into 3d crap
