Shuttle ferry in San Antonio
Woo hoo!
I just saw the shuttle/747 land at Kelly here in San Antonio. My work is about 2 miles away from the flight line so it was damn close overhead. It amazing that thing stays in the air. I only wish I knew earlier and I would have had my camcorder.

Re: Shuttle ferry in San Antonio
The shuttle will be landing at KSC around 6:30 pm EDT. If the weather is nice they are going to do a beach flyby. Now that would be kick ass to see while swimming.
I zoomed in on the original picture from above a little more:

Well...I know the person flying it...so :P
But seriously, i'm part of Johnson Space Center Astronomical Society(JSCAS) and one of our members is the person who trains astronauts at JSC. However, recently he got a position flying that monster, but rarely gets a chance to do it. He gave us this site http://flightaware.com/ along with the tail number to use for tracking (NASA911) if you want to see the path they're taking.
Here's the picture he took from his phone today...

That came here today? Damn. Been so busy with training at my new job, I didn't even know.
Not like I'd be able to see it anyways as I'm stuck inside most of the day with few if any windows for us to look out. Plus we're out by the SA International Airport not by Kelly.
I might have been able to see it/hear though...maybe...
Nice pics though. I would have love to been over there to see it.
