Nilla isn't as fun as HC, though both have their highs and lows. Nilla you gotta keep shooting and shooting people, I am a fan of no map and reticule (personal preference and reminds me of PR), HC snipers can be ridiculous with one shot kills, without the HUD there is no means of distinguishing things (PR had a compass along the bottom so you could call out direction.).
If you ever see me around on steam Hog shoot me a message and if I'm free I'll hop on a server with ya.
Make sure you get TS all setup too. VOIP is vital and can be the game changer.

Be prepared for the following:
Mass Confusion.
Sniper fest.
One mile wide hit boxes.
First to see, first to kill hardcore mode.
Speaking from one BF2er to another, your best game of BC2 won't even come close to a fun game of BF2. Graphics are great, blowing up shit is fun, but BC2 is basically a console game that's low on strategy and high on lone wolf sniper types.
