Ok so I would like some advice here. I really don't have a genre that I read I just read what is good and can get me into the book. I really like series because then I can follow the characters I really love along.
In the past year I've read:
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Played with fire, Kicked the hornets nest; I liked this series a lot. Lots of action and kept me turning pages. It did take me a bit to get used to the detail oriented writing style. But once I hit the third book it took me no time at all to get through it.
The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay; These again were books full of conflict and strong characters. I think it is geared towards middle schoolers but that is about where I am at with my reading level.
Water for Elephants; A good book, but too short. By too short it is a book that isn't in a series. I always feel like I want to read the next book to follow characters from one book to the next. Though this was a good read.
The lightning Thief, Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian; This is a very good series quick reads and has action. It is fun to read because the humor within the group of characters and the relationships they forge.
Treasure Island; I did manage to read one of the classics this year. I enjoyed it again, it was able to keep me turning pages to see how things turned out.
So what books do you fine people of TPG suggest I read next? I prefer series because I hate letting go of characters but am not against 1 offs. I also more or less need the books to be on the Kindle as that's how I read whether it is on my kindle or the kindle app on my phone.
People have suggested Game of Thrones, I myself might pick up Rick Riordan's new series that continues where Percy Jackson leaves off but then I'd have to wait for each new book and I get impatient.

Seconding or Thirding or whatever Game of Thrones, it is awesome and you will enjoy it. There is a bit of "and his manhood hung long and heavy" but its more than made up for in sheer badassery.
What about Lord of the Rings? If you haven't read that in a while, it rules. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is also great and you can stay with the characters for quite a few books.

Right now I'm reading Kitchen Confidential: Aventures in the Culinary Underbelly. Really good read. Anthony Bourdain is a badass and a really good story teller. It's the complete opposite of the Food Network world. This here is the true stories of sex crazed chefs that wield awesome knives and are mercenaries for hire.

Re: JB's Books
JB can you tell me a bit about that Kindle? I was looking at possibly getting one, and wanted suggestions as to which model to consider... such as the 3G unit?
Also, I looked at the book selection and there is a series by David Weber, the "Safehold" series that you may like. Starts with "off Armageddon Reef".
The author has a wierd style with character names, but the story is compelling, and I believe the 6th? book of the series just released. Anyway, I like it, and it's not my normal read preference.
