laggy, the f word is not being directed at you. It's a shame this escalated so quickly. Elk is very busy and has a family to take care of, calling out the entire clan for one person not responding within 21 hrs is absurd. Elk knows the rules and bleeds TTP, I can assure you his conscience is clean.. as is mine for defending him. My boys were just sticking up for their squadmate .. there won't be any further outbursts here. Let's quash this now.

Honestly, I don't care about the F word. I don't use it in written communications often myself since I think it undermines your position when used inappropriately.

I care more about the stance.

I'm not doubting anyone yet. I'll wait for more of the backstory to comeout. I'm still objective. DJ raised a question, Elk said stand by, good enough for me. The others puffing out their chest and closing ranks without having heard Elk even comment yet. Noted, but that's it.

    Re: Clarification needed

So, Elk, let me put things this way. If you were playing a game of BF2 and saw someone switch to the other team, a team that had significantly higher scores on average than the other team, what would you think? What would you think if that person was not only a TTP reg, but a clan member? If that clan member was also a clan leader? If that clan leader was also an admin in another game?

That's what happened in TF2. At first I didn't notice. I was busy trying to help my team, but then I noticed you had been on the other team. I hadn't noticed an autobalance or any players join or leave. I went to check the chat. I thought that surely, in that type of situation, a member of the other team had quit and that you had been autobalanced. That wasn't the case though.

When I noticed, it was too far afterward, in my opinion to bring it up in game and for it not to be disruptive going over God chat. So I asked here. There is no PM in this type of situation. PMs do not provide the needed transparency.

I posted my second response after seeing numerous replies to this forum from your clanmates. I thought it odd that they weren't in the least curious about this. You had also been active on the site since before my reply to this thread.

As I have said, Elk is more than just some pubber. If he had been just anyone, in the same type of situation, I would've posted up a problem player report, but he is Elk and not Joe Nobody.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

    Re: Clarification needed

You guys and your game ethics I find it humorous and entertaining

All this for just a team switch, HA! Surely there more than what meets the eye AND only MR.WHITE can answer that.

With all due respect laggy but what a way to keep the flames going

This issue should have been sent through a private message first Or just waited for a response.

But apparently MR. White is not patient and the Book of common curtsy says you must respond to someone no more than 24hr or you lose your creditability and you are guilty. Then, after your patience runs out you start to insult the system and the clan. Haaha. And after getting a short response that you’re not happy with. You question his ethics in a game situation and at the same time trying to humiliate the man by saying his not worthy to be clan leader.

BUT YOU ARE, since you are too busy helping your team. Right?

Is that what you are here for?

EVERYONE MR.WHITE IS FIT FOR A “higher” LEADERSHIP position.

SO the million dollar question is: what do you want him to do?

    F. Idiot

Please admin, site moderator or anyone with the authority close, delete and/or lock this thread is nonsense and is based on a personal threat slash insult.

Gentlemen...please let me respond. Everyone please let me respond (I'm typing this up now). There is no need to lock this thread, this can be handled like adults. As for the name calling, please stop with that crap because it will get all of us no where...and fast.

Like Snoop said " Just chill, 'til the next episode" The episode will be my response.

I can't write for the rest of this clan but to, in a way, call out every single member really is unnecessary action. Perhaps you don't know this but they do realize that I'm perfectly capable of addressing issues that are directed toward only myself. It's unfortunate that comment was made especially since the timing of my response was not to your satisfaction. As for the timing, I had not read this thread until earlier today...I then promptly provided a shortened response.

    For this:

As I previously wrote, I simply switched teams to play with some friends. I imagine this was very shortly after joining the server when this occurred. Also as I previously wrote, I honestly had no idea that I was switching to the winning team. Right or wrong, I wanted to play with my friends since there was great potential for that session to be condensed. I don't give a crap about my stats, KDR, win-loss ratio, or any other meaning less stat. I play here at TTP to game with my friends, enjoy the competitive spirit, and teach teamplay by leading by example to all players. I can't even imagine a situation where I would purposesly switch teams so I could win. I actually do quite the opposite of that in BF2, a game I do hold an admin position in.

If there was a problem with my lack of knowledge of the rules or teamplay abilities, I'm positive that this would have been addressed by my fellow admins ages ago. I would have been suspended or even fired had a problem, instead I've never been disciplined or warned about my teamplay abilities in nearly the 2-years that I've held that position. Rather, I'm here defending myself for one "incident" where the whole situation was unknown.

I believe a PM would have been sufficient at the very least to get the understanding of the whole story. That's merely my opinion and I'll leave it at that.

What would I think? Nothing. I would think nothing. As admin first and a player second, I have to put my thoughts and emotions aside. Since you are an admin too, I know you do the same. I think that's a safe assumption, your time and efforts I believe will speak volumes to that. I don't need to go and publicly search for an explanation.

We've had countless discussions in multiple BF2 forums here at TTP regarding teamswitching. As an admin, just like in the past and will continue to in the future, take no action for teamswitchers. I think the player base does just fine job of berating those players.

I see teamswitchers everytime I login. I will not micromanage the server however, I will continue to worry about the greater issues and problems that we experience in BF2. Teamswitching is definitely not on the finer side of teamplay, but I have no enforceable rule against it.

I understand the point your trying to get at (the above statement only). Frankly I'm embarrassed that I will most likely be seen as a teamswitcher to the TF2 community. More so, I'm disgusted that my 2+ years here at TTP and the reputation I've worked my ass off to develop is questioned because of the assumption that you drew and presented to everyone.

Once again, I switched teams to play with some friends. I had no intentions of switching to be on the winning team. If that's the way it came across, well that just flat out sucks. That is not the type of player that I am, please do not make me out to be that way.

I will be happy to continue this discussion as a player. However if any of the discussion involves me as admin, please keep it out of this thread and make sure it goes in the proper place.

    Re: Clarification needed

IRON, I've lost a fair bit of respect for you as a clan. Not because of what Elk did, but how some of you have responded.

If it was such a stupid accusation that White made then just say "Hey man, that could have been handled in PMs, but lets get Elk in here". Instead some of you told White to go fuck himself.

It doesn't matter if this is a one time thing or not. It was out of character for a resident clan leader and White wanted clarification.

This was really a non-issue, Elk made a mistake and could just clarify and move on. Until of course, this attitude of "fuck you for accusing our clan leader" reared it's ugly head. And now it is an issue because this kind of attitude among a resident clan is worrying, to say the least.

Lets compare IRON's reactions to this situation to a situation involving HRD: http://www.texasteamplayers.com/index.php?topic=56008.0

Switching to play with your friends without looking at the teams is just as bad in my book as switching to avoid losing. TTP isn't about screwing over your team so that you can play with your friends.

We warn/kick/ban people who come into the TF2 server and teamstack so that they can play with their friends or their clanmates. We do that on all of TTP's servers.

Teamswitching in BF2 to "play with your friends" would be actionable. So would switching from the losing to the winning.

I understand that there is no rule spelling this out, but just think and tell me if it is in the true spirit of what TTP holds dear.
