Question Ethernet Running when pc is off

Why does the ethernet light on the back of my pc flicker when my computer is turned off?

Does anyone else have the same thing going on with their pc?

When I have my Uverse signal on two HD channels at the same time my pc is getting a signal and causing my HD shows to pixelate really bad. When I unplug my ethernet to my PC it stops all the pixelation. That is also with my pc turned off.

    Anyone know what to do...

It sucks because it is affecting my HD DVR when plugged in.

Usually, it's normal activity by the router interrogating the physical connections to discover any devices that are connected, and so update the routing table (and provide DHCP services, etc.). Basically every few seconds it calls "Marco!" and sees if any new devices reply "Polo!". If the device is off or not responding to signals, the Rx/Tx (receive/transmit) light will flicker to show receipt of the interrogation, but it won't send an acknowledgement packet back.

As for why it would affect your TV signal, who knows. There isn't nearly enough traffic to be bogging down the router or causing collisions. Maybe the router in the modem is shitty. Maybe you have a bad crosstalk situation on one of your cables.

Whatever it is, router interrogation most likely isn't the problem.

    Draco thanks for the reply..
It only happens when I have two signals on hd channels with Uverse. do you think there could be a bandwidth issue?
