    Dell M6400

I got a new work laptop today, I knew it was a beast when I specced it to my bosses before they ordered it. As Im opening the various parts of the box I come across what I thought was a netbook, 8" x 4" x 1" little package wrapped in thin foam. Come to find out its the fucking power supply. This thing takes almost 11 amps to run, Ive had gaming desktops that didnt eat that much power So yay, I get to do anything I want on this box while on the road, but boo Im going to need to buy a rolling bag to carry the small nuclear reactor they call a power supply needed to run it.

I have been wanting a laptop more and more lately. Maybe when FA comes in I can look into something.

Sorry to but into the Killers forums but I saw your post in the recent posts section. I have been using the M6300 for about a year now. Thing is a beast XPx64 4Gigs of ram, 512 mb vid card etc.... Makes a great desktop replacement. But I am with you, the power supply is like a lead ingot. 110watts of pure pain in the ass. The best part is I get to throw out all the other dell power supplies I have for my various docking stations and buy more of these heavy bastards. Good times!

My work laptop is probably strong enough to run TF2 in low resolution and get about 20 FPS with no graphics options turned on - but I wouldnt want to download Steam on it for fear I would get busted.

    How big is the screen?

17 1/2" of LED backlit goodness.

You can dig into the details on the box here

We cant even install programs on the image we get from the gov't, we dont have admin rights. What we do is just buy a second HD and swap when we wanna do stuff they cant see while on the road.

I have the M90 which is the version before with the 3500 vid card. Plays TF2 etc around 80fps so you should do well.
Now, there is a work around on the PS, I do this all the time.
Boot with battery, then plug in a 120 or even 90 watt. Works just fine but won't charge you battery as fast and sometimes not at all, just depends on the system draw on the battery.
