Punkbuster is a P.O.S

ive been getting this stupid PnkBstr.exe error everytime i join ttp or other servers and it kicks me. ive been trying everything i can find on this forum and pb site etc. i dunno if its something wrong with the server or me or both. has any1 else been gettin this or other pb issues?

i have had problems with it before but they are usually temporary, which i have no idea why. but punkbuster is kind of a crappy deal at times because part of the way it works is it checks your computer for predetermined code and you may just have a text file with phone numbers in it and if they are in the right sequence to be detected then it will get ya.

all i can say is, if you are really feeling saucy. try the ultimate fix, ....format...

yeh its a pain but i do it about 2 times a year and it nice to clean out all that junks data that you dont even realize you collect. i cant say it will fix it but its always nice when windows starts 2x faster and games and everything run better

format means get out your windows disk, save everything you dont want to erase and wipe out the hard drive and re install windows.

I had that punkbuster error last night. Service communication error: PnKBstrB.exe handshaking failed..... What in the hell is handshaking failed? LOL! (no no walker, don't think bad)

So I try joining TTP 3 times with the same error and I decided to join another server to see if I had the same problem and nope, punkbuster didn't kick me out, so I stayed for 15 minutes and then rejoined TTP and everything was fine.

It means PB is utter shit and should be fired. Have ya'll tried completely deleting the PB folder and then reinstalling it?

Oddly enough for me... every time I've had that handjob error (that was for you, Warlady), all I've had to do was reboot my pc, and then it was fine.

I've heard all types of solutions, each one working for someone different, but not for someone else. For me, apparently, the solution is to reboot.

I wish a simple reboot was all it took to fix a handjob error, lol.

Evidently PB had an update for the PB self updater itself and a PB update. I got the error about a week ago, so I just clicked the self updater and it fixed it all, no more handjob problem.
