Dog ate my homework....I mean mic.

I got a dog for my family for X-mas and it chewed the mic plug off my headset... I have a built in mic but it would give feedback. TTP is not the same without a mic. I will get one soon but I don't want just a normal one, can anyone link me to headsets just for gaming that aren't expensive?

Anyway I might not play too much until I get one, but if I start itching I will try to deal with it..

Yeah, it's be wise to not let the dog into the room w/ the computer. That or go wireless mic and mouse.

Look on newegg, i'm sure there are lots for under 30 bucks...or just go to any store and grab some cheapo thing that will do the job.

I have two earlier versions of these and they work great. The wife uses the USB version and i use the mic/phones jack version.

I seen that one on ebay for cheaper I like it but the one I have went behind my head, I liked that, but it's the only one I've seen like that and it was a cheapy from walmart, also I don't think people could hear me well.

I would recommend a SteelSeries 5H but they're pricey... Mine was 100 bucks and I love it!

Sennheiser has a set that goes around the back of the head, but they sre probably not cheap... I just got the pc 350's and love em... well worth the money

Honestly, any mic headset will do. Just head down to your local superstore.

if you're worried AT ALL about sound quality consider:

you won't ever hear the mic, and the recording quality is generally going to be just fine.

You hear the game, music and others' mics. This is where you money should be spent if at all.

I have a $30 mic that works just fine. It falls a little short on bass but it works and it doesn't bother me at all.

I bought my son a Microsoft Clear Voice USB mic and WOW it sounds really nice.

The Sennheiser PC131/151 headsets have been around for a long time, so you should be able to find them cheap. Mine's been going strong for three years, I like it just fine.
